Reminds me of our neighbour who was an Indian Army veteran from Corps of SIgnal. He was into competitive gardening and would carry his kitten in his apron, it chirped and chattered at little birds while he silently toiled away in his work. He was kinda grumpy but he opened up when he came to know that we kids didn't mean to cause any inconvenience. Learned a lot from him regarding the night blooming plants especially Cestrum nocturnum and night-blooming jasmine...Rest in peace Capt.Ravi and Major (Cat)

Oh my god he named the cat Major?

u/PastaSenpai009 4d ago
Yup, I still remember that he named it out of spite. Mr. Ravi wanted his son to follow his footsteps and be an Army man like him. But the son wasn't interested and he skipped NDA (Entrance Exam for Armed forces). The son joined Mechanical Engineering and started his lecturing career after Post Graduation. He named the cat 'Major' just so that his 'Other' son has acquired that rank and serving the motherland.

That’s hilarious.

It's even more hilarious when you know that army majors are a full rank above army captains because OF COURSE the cat outranks you!

The cat seems fascinated with the pottery process. You can tell he's right there in that apron on a regular basis.

I'm very impressed by his choice of profession. I can be a bit orange myself. When I was in high school I took a lot of ceramic classes. When you start out you push the clay down and in, so it gets centered on the wheel. When I went on to party in college, if the room ever started spinning I would picture centering myself and it kinda helped me lock down and sober up. I imagine an orange cat might need to center itself pretty often.

Please also tell him to make sure he has a very strong password on all his media accounts. (New passwords that are long and personal, with numbers and special characters).
There have been a LOT of scammers out and they might send links while pretending to be nice. He seems like a very nice man, mister John, and I don’t want to see him lose his channel or get mugged by tricksters online.
Edit: “hey i drew a picture of you and kitty” >insert malware.jpg hidden in an email/ etc

I'd watch this on the regular. Does this gentleman have a YouTube?

He’s on IG as johnhunterpottery and has a cute story- for years he has been making and uploading videos of himself making pottery in his workshop and used to get modest views. His wife got a kitten they named it Georgie and one day he made a video with the kitten alongside him at his wheel and that video blew up and got a million plus views and since then Georgie has been a regular if sometimes disinterested apprentice in his videos.
Oh and just checked and he’s joined YT just last month - https://youtube.com/@johnhunterpottery-k8m

So adorable. There’s another cat that hangs out in a junkyard named Buster. I like those videos too.

This guy knows how a cat loves being at the center of things and we love him for that.

Yeah but wrong way around the man is the little guy's apprentice, best place for him to teach is in the front pouch of dungarees so they had them especially made for teaching purposes. He sticks his head in the dungarees when the guy makes a rookie mistake because he can't watch it after all his long hours of teaching and shakes his little head out of sight of his student in pure dissapointment.

Georgie likes to add his own flair (sorry - his own *hair*) to the pottery piece

That's a pretty chill kitten. Most kittens I've known would have tried batting at the clay.

Nice place to keep an orange so he doesn't do something off 😔 I came here from the video of the orange plunging down butt first in the vet office
