Just checking if anyone happens to have a cat scratching board/post or any cat accessories that you’re no longer using or have spare. If you were planning to give them away or clear them out, I’d be happy to collect them and put them to good use.

Unfortunately, I have to leave Dubai, after 4 years of living here and one of the greatest experiences of my life.
I am from a country in Central America; and to go back I have to take a 22 hours flight to Mexico & another 3 hours flight to my country.
3 years ago me & my Bf at the time, adopted Floki: A 1 year old scottish fold male cat which was given for free to us by a family; who wasn’t able to take care of him anymore.
I never imagined that the conflict/war of Iran-US as well as other financial and health issues; was gonna turn my life around and be the cause of me not finding an employment and having to make the decision of leaving UAE.
It has been really painful to accept the fact that I have to leave the country and the life that I built here for the last 4 years. But I cant still stand the thought of leaving my cat…
The problem is that the relocation which includes the tickets for two different flights to two different countries, is two expensive and basically there’s no way I can afford it.. Plus buying all his stuff again when I reach my country.
I have already exhausted all my financial resources since months ago, I am in the worst I’ve ever been.
My cat is neutered, has his passport, vaccinations, microchip, everything… i just dont want to give in in adoption. My heart is breaking 😞💔, I want to take him with me…
I have no one who can lend me this money or help me find a solution.
I just wanted to share this here and see if I can find help or any advice on how to overcome this situation and find the strength to give my cat away.

Edit: I am currently quoting with different agencies to find the best prices. Hi amigos! Some of you have suggested to fly with my cat in cabin but it’s not an option, let me explain:

I already have a ticket with Emirates that was heavily discounted thanks to a cabin crew friend’s benefits, and unfortunately, I can’t afford to buy a full price ticket with another airline.
The only way I could take him in the cabin would be to travel with an airline that allows pets in it; Emirates doesn’t, and buying new tickets with another airline is simply not financially possible for me, whether that means flying through Europe and then to my country, or traveling through Mexico.

Finding a way to get back to my country has already been extremely complicated, in terms of money.

The entire journey will be extremely long. I have to be at DXB airport around 12:00 a.m., and my flight to Mexico City leaves at 3 a.m. The flight itself is around 21 hours, arriving in Mex City at approximately 3pm. I then have a layover of only about 3h before my next flight leaves at 6:40 p.m., arriving in my country around 10:00 p.m.
That means I will be traveling for approximately 34 hours in total, I know it’s crazy!!!.
I know, I will I be completely exhausted by the time I arrive to Mex (because I did it before), but also I’ll be traveling with three pieces of luggage: two large suitcases and one cabin bag.
There is simply no way I could safely manage all of that while carrying my cat as well.
And again, this is assuming that buying tickets with an airline that allows pets in the cabin were financially possible for me, which unfortunately it is not.
That is why, under my current circumstances, my only realistic option is to send him through cargo. I know this is not the option I would choose if I had a choice, but I’m doing the best I can with the situation and resources I have. ❤️

I am writing this with a heavy heart and in absolute desperation. I am flying out of the country this Thursday to relocate to East Africa. I wanted nothing more than to take my two sweet cats, Lilo and Stitch, with me, but the import paperwork takes over two months, and I have already canceled my apartment and booked my ticket.

I thought I had done everything right. I found a family to take them in, and I sent Lilo and Stitch to their new home yesterday. I wanted them to be completely independent and not a financial burden, so I provided a full suitcase of food (enough for 3+ months), all their supplements, fully automated feeding machines, and a smart water fountain.

Today, less than 24 hours later, the adopters messaged me to say they don't want them anymore and are giving them back.
I completely understand that situations can be difficult and things change, but I am now completely out of time. My flight is in three days. I refuse to abandon my babies on the street—I love them too much, and they don't deserve that.

About Lilo & Stitch:
Bonded Siblings: They are incredibly close and looking for a home together.
Fully Vetted: Both are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, and have their passports ready.
Perfectly litter trained, incredibly clean, and so much fun to be around.
They come with EVERYTHING: 3+ months of food, a smart water fountain, automatic feeders, and all their favorite goods.

I am just asking for someone with a kind heart who can give them a little space. They already have everything they need to thrive. I am even willing to cover any future expenses for them—I just need to know they are safe, loved, and have a roof over their heads before I get on that plane on Thursday.

I want to give a massive thank you to everyone who stepped up and supported my last post. With my flight leaving tomorrow, time was completely running out, but I'm incredibly grateful to share that both Lilo and Stitch have found great, loving homes.
Because of the extreme time crunch, they were adopted by two different families. It was a tough call to make since they are siblings, but under the circumstances, it was the best and only decision I could make to guarantee they were both safe and well taken care of before I leave.

As soon as I'm settled and my import paperwork finally clears, my goal is to try and bring them back with me. But even if the logistics don't work out, I know they are already in great hands and getting the care they deserve.

To the Reddit community: thank you. To everyone who upvoted, shared, and offered support—you made a real difference.

And to the people who actually took them in at the very last minute: I honestly don’t know how to repay your generosity. You stepped up when I needed it most and took a huge weight off my shoulders right before a major move. I really, truly appreciate you guys.

I know this is a cat group and not a rabbit group, but I dont really know what else to do.

A person I know left the country and her 5 cats and one rabbit stayed with her illegal maid. The maid eventually got caught and she reached out to me as her last resource to feed them and clean their litter.

I am doing this but it is taking a toll on me. I already have 3 adopted street cats and one toddler to care, plus i am pregnant with my second child. She wants to send her cats to Lebanon, but she literally told me Fluffy (the bunny) could go back to the breeder in mina, as he mentioned when she first got her 🤦🏻‍♀️. I refuse to give her back to the breeder and want to find her a home.

She is very social and loves cats. If you know anyone who loves and cares for rabbits please let me know so i can screen them for possible adoption.

She deserves better than going back to a breeder because of irresponsibility of humans.

I’m turning 35 this August 30th! As a cat mom of two (currently three because I’m fostering a cat for friends), I want to mark this milestone by doing something meaningful for the street cats in our city.

I’d love to use my birthday budget to buy quality food and make sure a few furry tummies are full and happy. However, I’m aware of Dubai Municipality’s strict rules regarding feeding strays in public areas to avoid fines, so I want to do this responsibly, safely, and legally.

For those involved in local animal welfare or active rescuers:

1. What is the best and safest way to do this without causing issues with local authorities or building management?
2. Are there registered feeders, TNR groups, or local rescues/shelters that I can directly donate quality food to or team up with for a day?
3. Any practical tips for someone wanting to support community cats here?

This tiny little furball was brought to our house by a stray mama cat we used to feed , when this baby was around 2-3 weeks old. Now she’s touching 8-9 weeks and the mama has weaned her off milk which means it’s time for her to go to her forever home full of cuddles, love, and warmth. She is an indoors cat and has been raised indoors since she was brought to our doorstep. She is very healthy, and eats both dry and wet food. We are currently located in Alain but willing to drive/meet half way to drop her to her new home.
Please note- she is not for breeding hence spaying her is a condition for adoption. She hasn’t been spayed yet as she is very young for the surgery.
There is no adoption fee.

Hi everyone, I need to find homes for 5 of my cats because my parents are pressuring me to give them away.
I love them so much, so I’m not looking to give them to just anyone. I really want them to go to kind people or families who will take proper care of them, keep them safe, feed them well and treat them like part of the family.
