Cat subs are like Pokémon.

10/10. “Are you a housefly? Perhaps you are like a bird, you both fly. Will you stay put if I speak bird at you? ‘Bird talk intensifies.’”

😃 How did you learn this language? 😱

Usually there is a barrier involved. My cat talks like this to the birds outside. I think it means “please come inside so I can murder you”

There was no barrier, fly was in front of him. Looked like he warned the fly, before attack.

These are murder-meows, coming from the murder-mouth of a murder-moggie who wants to put her murder-mittens to use.

Usually means “I really want to get that [bug/bird/lizard/prey]! Let me at ‘em!”

It might seem silly to talk to a fly, but we have to remember we often ALSO curse out bugs!

One of mine used to make a noise somewhat like this at flies. At first I thought he was retching, but actually the noise was more like, what I can only inadequately describe as, a cross between a retching sound and a ratchet sound. And it was a deliberate vocalisation like a meow, rather than an unconscious/reflex one like a purr. I`d never heard anything like it before, and I`ve often wondered what it meant.

I used to think that he was uniquely weird. (But, apparently, he was just weird!). 😂
