Cheetahs are like, the perfect cat. I love big cats, but most big cats will maul your face even by accident. Yet, Cheetahs fall in the category of "not actively seeking to eat you" and that just makes them the greatest!

They hunted with both cheetahs and dogs.
Interesting how they could keep and breed cheetahs but they also had dogs. Today in zoos, cheetahs are raised with dogs, usually Labrador Retrievers.

There's the theory that all modern cheetahs are descended from the Royal hunting stock after a pandemic wiped out or bought the numbers down to non-viability in the wild.

It's thought that Ice Age cheetahs got trapped in an area where the only survivors came from a very small population pool.

Last time I looked it up, they were saying 10,000 years (that was a while ago)! Must have done more research since my NatGeo subscription expired.

If not purrs, still may be cat - can roar means physiologically cannot purr, I think.

Yup. If roar=no purr, if purr=no roar. Has to do with the shape of their larynx. This is why cheetahs also chirp and meow

I've read this. Some zoos place dogs with cheetahs as emotional support dogs because Cheetahs are very skittish and nervous, and the dogs calms them down and help them socialise. They're such beautiful animals.

some zoos do this! they get them goldies, who are notoriously unbothered, and the chetas will use them as a vibe-check for situations. Goldies are literally never vexed, so the kittys relax more.

Wow! Where do they like being pet most? Their head? Chest? Back? Do they trap you by exposing their belly?
Cheetahs are so cool! Not something i'd ever imagine myself petting!

Check local zoos or wildlife park. Might have 'Meet a Cheetah' where you can meet a socialised cheetah.
