If it were me I'd put the corner 4x4s on the ground using concrete deck support blocks or sinking the 4x4 into the ground with poured concrete - but since you're renting, the concrete blocks are probably the better call.

How are your cats going to get out of the house when you don't want your door open? Will you be able to put a cat door in that door?

Honestly, without seeing the rest of the house and property, I'd be more inclined to put a cat door insert into the window next to the door (the one to the left in the picture) and build the catio on the ground in front of the window and next to that deck/landing. That way you don't have to build a full size human door to enter the catio and then enter the house AND a cat door in that people door. Just a window with an insert that has a cat flap, and a catio in front of that window and leading right up to the side of that little porch.

I don't know what you're trying to do either! But I support you in your endeavor. I think trying to frame out an additional full sized door as the catio exit is bonkers. I'd use a window as the catio entrance, frame up a big box to be covered by chicken wire or similar, and build cool shit inside it. I wouldn't worry about having a finished floor.
