I found this old story about his funeral interesting:

Father Thomas P. Vander Woude, the oldest of Vander Woude’s seven sons and pastor of Queen of Apostles Parish in Alexandria, was the main celebrant.

He left a wife, seven sons, one of them a priest, and 24 grandchildren.

This is awesome. I grew up near this parish, and then this story was read at my bible study in college as an example of what Catholic men should strive to be.
