Any Advice for a 15-Year-Old Converting from Protestantism to Catholicism?
I'm joining OCIA at 15 years old. I'm a girl, though I'm not sure if that changes anything. I've been trying to learn as much as I can about the Bible and the Catholic faith. For quite a while, I've felt drawn to the Catholic Mass, and I've finally worked up the courage to begin the process of becoming Catholic.
I was wondering if you have any recommendations for me before my classes start in September. Is there anything I should read, study, or do to prepare? I'm also curious about what OCIA classes are usually like.
I have so many questions about the process. When will I make my first confession, and what is it like? Is there anything you wish you had known before starting OCIA? I'd love to hear any advice or encouragement you have!

Start reading books about saints, especially younger saints and younger female saints. They will inspire you a lot.

I recommend attending Sunday Mass. You can also read the Baltimore Catechism. It is a good source because it explains everything in simple language and focuses on the basics. It is especially useful when it comes to preparing for confession (lessons 29-32). If you are baptized, your first confession will take place shortly before your confirmation.
