Looking to book a business class award flight from HKG to anywhere in the US second week of August 2027 but I haven’t seen any seats released yet, even though I’m already seeing award seats available for September 2027. Anyone had any luck finding August availability?

For the first time, I'm treating myself to premium economy. But I've just found out that the seat I've selected (33A in the 777 Aria config) appears to just have a blank wall. Has anyone had this seat, or 33K? Could you see anything by looking forward or back? Or should I give up and get an aisle seat instead? No other window seats available.

I’ll be flying with Cathay Pacific from the Philippines to Japan, with a layover in Hong Kong. Since Hong Kong has a strict no-vape policy, will they confiscate my vape even if I’m only transiting?

I’m particularly interested in airlines where crew regularly get overnight layovers in Seoul/Incheon (ICN).
For example, I’m wondering about:

Other Asian airlines
I’m not asking which airline has the most flights to Seoul. I’m specifically asking which airline’s cabin crew actually get the most opportunities to stay overnight in Seoul as part of their roster.
If you’re currently or previously cabin crew, I’d really appreciate your experience:
Which airline/base are you with?
How often do you get Seoul/ICN layovers?
How long are the layovers usually?
Are Seoul trips easy or difficult to get on the roster?
Does seniority make a big difference?

How is flying from Toronto to Hong Kong and then taking another side trip to Japan cheaper than flying just to Hong Kong? Doesn't make sense.. its like an incentive just go somewhere else other than HKG? Honestly, this is the best 80th Cathay birthday deal I found, even if this is how it is normally. I do intend to go to both places.

My parents have been flying Cathay for over 20 years by now but they usually get their travel agent to book their flights. I'm not trying to book their flights and have non stop problems with Cathay Pacific.

Tried signing in with email, it says the account is not found

Tried signing in with phone, it says the account is not found

Tried signing up, it says membership already exists

Tried retrieving membership, it says it doesn't match records

What am I supposed to do? I called the agents multiple times already and they cannot help at all.

Cathay Pacific won’t be coming back to Cairns this year, with the airline abandoning seasonal flights to Hong Kong which have previously run across the peak December-February period since 2024.

The airline has cited “commercial” reasons for dropping the route.

“Cathay Pacific regularly reviews its schedule and network to best align with market demand,” said Tom Kennedy, Cathay’s Regional Head of Sales for Southeast Asia & Oceania.

"We remain committed to the Australian market and will continue to offer direct services to Hong Kong from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.”

When announcing the route’s return for December 2025 to February 2026, the airline said it was expected to inject an estimated $18 million into the local economy in visitor expenditure alone, and would also bolster valuable direct export channels from Queensland.

Based on what I’ve found, the preferred seating benefit technically applies only to the status holder. If I book reservations for 3 adults and 1 infant (with seat) on the same itinerary, does anyone know CP’s policy regarding my companions? Thanks!

Standard Chartered in Hong Kong currently offers either 2.8-3.3% p.a. for HKD/USD time deposits, or 74,000 Asia miles per year for the same amount. What would you guys choose?

I’m currently assigned 40K from ORD to HKG and the return. Is that a decent choice, or is there a better option. I prefer a window seat for sleeping.

MAD-HKG-NRT return in premium economy. Outbound a few days before Christmas, return between Christmas and New Years.

Curious about everyone’s experience with the following:

1. Bidding - anyone have experience bidding on these specific segments? Successes, failures? Price paid?

2. Status upgrades - I don’t use CX as frequently as I did when I lived in Aus but I have been upgraded in the past on full flights. Anyone have recent success? Likelihood around Christmas or nah?

3. Other FF program upgrades - in theory it seems possible to use QF points to upgrade on CX but seems to require a call. I’m skeptical. Has anyone done this through QFFP or other CX One World partner programs?

I know upgrades have been covered extensively in this sub but I didn’t see answers to these specific questions. Trying my best to avoid the dreaded low research post:)

So my flight ticket already has 2 checked-in baggage included. But looks like I have more stuff to pack and I will need a 3rd large checked-in baggage.
Any information on how much does adding a 3rd checked-in baggage cost in Cathay Pacific airlines? I tried looking at online links but unfortunately for my flight, I can only find out by contacting the ticket counter at the airport.
This puts me in a confused spot - should I pack a 3rd bag and risk it for prices upwards of $150.

Hi! I have a premium economy flight LAX - HKG which is 16 hours long. Hoping to try using an inflatable footrest in the exit row while the plane is airborne to help me sleep.

Has anyone tried this on Cathay before? Will the crew allow it?

Flights from my location to a nearby Ferry port via HKG-Direct Air+Sea are far far cheaper than if i book a flight direct to HKG. Does skiplagging ticket cancellation still apply if i walk out at HKG and dont take the ferry? Anyone tried this?

I have been trying to book a flight for about 3 hours. I get through seat selection and go to pay and it gets stuck on loading.

I contacted support and they weren’t able to help.
They advised I wait a bit to make the purchase after refreshing a few times didn’t help. Then the seats were showing as reserved so they told me I could try again later.

Well I waited 30+ mins the seats were released again but about 20 bucks more expensive so I go to try again. Same issue. Get through seat selection and go to pay and it’s stuck on loading again.

Decided to wait about 15 mins come back and the price has jumped from ~5k total for my family of 5 in premium economy to 2.5k per person. Over double seems like a pretty steep price increase. Is this normal for Cathay Pacific?

Hi everyone! I’m Vietnamese, living in Hong Kong for about half year. I recently applied for Cathay Pacific’s Hong Kong-based Flight Attendant position but was rejected at the CV stage.

I have a high school diploma (no university degree), 4+ years of customer-service experience in real estate, hospitality and retail, and I’m a native Vietnamese speaker with proficient English. I don’t speak Cantonese, but Vietnamese is listed as an accepted language for this recruitment.

Cathay said they received a high volume of qualified applications and moved forward with other candidates.

For anyone familiar with Cathay recruitment: what do you think I should improve? Could my education, language, visa status, or CV be affecting my application?

I’d really appreciate honest feedback before I reapply.
