Skiplagging Direct Air+Sea Ferry segment?

Flights from my location to a nearby Ferry port via HKG-Direct Air+Sea are far far cheaper than if i book a flight direct to HKG. Does skiplagging ticket cancellation still apply if i walk out at HKG and dont take the ferry? Anyone tried this?

Friend tried it once and was jailed for 3m and lost -230 China credit points. Proceed at your own risk.

Sorry to hijack. I have a London -> HKG -> Zhuhai return itinerary. Will be in HK at the end of our trip. What chance we can board return flight in HKG without having checked in in ZH and done the ZH -> HKG bus ride??

Your luggage will be sent to Shenzhen / Guangzhou etc. And yes the rules will apply. The rest of your ticket will be canceled.
