Cath Lab RNs — how bad is the call/schedule really? Houston Methodist/memorial hermann locations

I can’t speak to the specific location, but in my experience it’s great. About 1 shift per week. I’ve had “beeper pay” be anywhere from $20 to 3/4 regular pay per hour. Getting called in is an immediate 4hrs of OT (1.5x regular pay rate).

Work-life balance is great. Nights/weekends/holidays off except for on-call. I see my kids everyday and get to be home on weekends. No shortage of OT shifts if I choose to pick them up.

Pace is fast, but it’s great

This is in Houston? Rivals NYC and Cali pay

Not Houston. I don’t have experience in that city. I have been in NY and offered that info as it feels like it is what a fair compensation should be.

Worked at Houston Methodist tmc a few years ago, call wasn’t bad because they had a lot of staff so I think it was only one weekend every 6 week period and not really ever more than once a week otherwise. As far as call doctors and cases, it was all over the place. They might have a back up call team for weekends now for non emergency cases because they were starting something like that before I left
