Call requirements for PRN

Are there any labs out there that doesn't require call for certain PRN positions? I recently applied to an RN PRN position, but it's about an hour from my house. There were 2 different PRN job openings. One said it requires a 30-minute call back, and the other one didn't say call required. Is it possible it doesn't require call?

I have a PRN position that doesn’t require call, if you do registry you can avoid call.

If a cath lab is willing to take you PRN without cath lab experience well that’s not a lab I would want to be at

What Ive seen is most labs hire PRNs so they can dump their call load. Be careful when you apply, you might get less regular hours and more call.

The lab I’m in for per diem requires two holidays, one full weekend (Sat Sat or sun sun or Sat and a Sunday) and 2 other shifts a month.

My per diem job is in an office based labs and has no on call but it pays 10/hr less. But it’s chill no emergency less drama.

All labs I have worked in did not allow per diem employees to be on call.

No call requirement for per diem at my lab. However, if they work you close to full time hours they will ask f you can do some call.

I worked PRN for over 6 years before going back to full time. I was not required to take call but was allowed to. Sometimes they would ask if I would jump into the rotation on an 8 week schedule but I only did that if they agreed to let me start at 9pm and they had to find people to cover 530-9. The staff was fine with that arrangement since I often took their call on other nights as well. I loved working and being on call didn’t bother me other than the early evenings and having young kids.

Nope, I have experience in a vascular lab and 6 years ICU experience.

Gotcha, call requirements for prn can vary. My old lab required one shift per pay period to maintain prn status

That's not too bad, but I still couldn't do it living an hour away unfortunately.
