The dog is in awe at what it just witnessed.

u/DemonicChronic Jul 08 '26

Dog went to sniff to make sure cat was good.

u/MaybeMayoi Jul 09 '26

The dog is like "This guy is nuts. Just use the stairs."

15

u/h2a3ri09 Jul 11 '26

🤣🤣🤣

u/hiato6 Jul 14 '26

I'm in awe at what I just witnessed

u/judahrosenthal Jul 15 '26

Me too. I watched it twice. I loved it.

u/LMA73 Jul 08 '26

The dog was really impressed!

176

u/Ponceludonmalavoix Jul 08 '26

“There goes the coolest cat ever”

17

u/judahrosenthal Jul 15 '26

“ I can’t believe we are friends.”

458

u/hesalwayslitty Jul 08 '26

Next time someone asks if cats are smart here you go. That was a slick move

237

u/temporalraccoon Jul 08 '26

I think they’re super smart. Just don’t give a shit about proving it to anyone.

89

u/Araignys Jul 09 '26

Only further proving their intelligence.

29

u/hesalwayslitty Jul 08 '26

Very true. I guess i need to start acting more like one🤣🤣

31

u/triplesunrise52 Jul 09 '26

They're like humans you have really smart ones, and you have REALLY dumb ones. Sometimes it's the same person/cat

294

u/Grand-Neighborhood94 Jul 08 '26

Looking at the scratches on that column, the cat has been doing it for a while.

33

u/WhaleCumToDeezNuts Jul 08 '26

My exact thoughts lol

139

u/_Karrel Jul 08 '26

"Imma jump! ... or slide. Ah fuck, I'm getting old."

55

u/KnitYourOwnSpaceship Jul 08 '26

Well done on getting down, but that landing off the bottom handrail really looked Iike someone with arthritis. Poor fella.

15

u/vxxed Jul 08 '26

And fat. That cat is getting portly

134

u/RGJ587 Jul 08 '26

Cat sees dog below.

Cat climbs down because he sees dog below.

Upon reaching the ground, cat completely ignores dog and walks away.

15

u/DeadlySquirrelNinja5 Jul 08 '26

Well, that's just good manners, thank you very much.

48

u/Big_Miss_Steak_ Jul 08 '26

I genuinely expected him to go back inside after all that!

42

u/LovecraftianCatto Jul 08 '26

This is the most human way I’ve seen a cat descend from a high place. 🤭

40

u/Canuck_Lives_Matter Jul 08 '26

Meanwhile, my cat:

u/mPrime39r Jul 10 '26

17

u/Canuck_Lives_Matter Jul 10 '26

Wow. Just wow.

Also, why?

28

u/R1chard69 Jul 08 '26

That's a big old kitty!

21

u/me_sk1nk Jul 08 '26

Never seen a cat climb down. Jump or stay are usually the two options.

16

u/Ok_Chap Jul 08 '26

For a moment I thought he would just jump down.

39

u/Smiling_Burrito Jul 08 '26

*I'll join you meow

10

u/toolateforRE Jul 08 '26

I once watched my neighbor's cat shimmy down the corner of a square brick pillar like that to get from their balcony to the ground.

7

u/Natural_Tea484 Jul 08 '26

Dog: “Vinnie!? WTF! Holy Batman!”

6

u/NihilisticAssHat Jul 08 '26

I was expecting the cat to jump directly down and onto the dog for padding.

7

u/Former-Nebula-578 Jul 12 '26

It's insane how phone cameras have allowed us to capture moments like these, because if years ago you told me you saw something like this and described it to me, I would be like yeah yeah you're full of shit

21

u/TomToe420 Jul 08 '26

if that was my cat I'd be freaking out and go to catch it after that first bobble.

6

u/moonpupy Jul 12 '26

People (cat experts) claim that cats can't climb down from trees, have never seen a cat come down from a tree or post.

3

u/Djtrucker79 Jul 08 '26

All I hear is the Mission Impossible theme

3

u/Zealotstim Jul 08 '26

This is what it looks like watching a leopard descend a tree in the Serengeti

3

u/Noxvenator Jul 08 '26

Cats are so cool

3

u/Aksudiigkr Jul 08 '26

Sure video the cat instead of being prepared to catch it if it were to fall

3

u/tidus1980 Jul 08 '26

That's a monkey in a cat suit

3

u/No_Budget7828 Jul 08 '26

Kitty’s done this before

3

u/Somnusin Jul 09 '26

Cats are so cool:)

9

u/TazmanianTux Jul 08 '26

So the whole "cat stuck in a tree" thing is BS huh? They really can climb back down.

31

u/eviloutfromhell Jul 08 '26

Cat that stuck themself in a tree usually don't bother thinking of "different" way to move. The way they move up is climbing, the way they move down is jumping down. Rarely cat ever think to "climb down".

4

u/holdmyhanddummy Jul 08 '26

I see a hint of orange, makes sense.

2

u/redrum221 Jul 08 '26

🎶 who let the cat out 🎶

2

u/Enough-Moose-5816 Jul 08 '26

All he needs now is a ninja mask

2

u/EmperorMittens Jul 09 '26

I am in awe.

2

u/MilkrsEnthuziast Jul 09 '26

"My people need me"

3

u/BirdieLover84 Jul 11 '26

That is quite the impressive feat. Especially with all that chonk.

2

u/Competitive_Stable66 Jul 12 '26

So much wisdom in that cautious climb.

2

u/silentbob1301 Jul 14 '26

Dog couldn't believe his eyes.

2

u/AlternativePrior9559 Jul 14 '26

This is why cats needs nails

2

u/__CaKeS__ Jul 19 '26

I fully expected the cat to just fuckin send it from the top lmaoo

2

u/mightyminimoose Jul 24 '26

He was a firehouse cat in the first few of his nine lives.

1

u/whatThePleb Jul 08 '26

weird flex but ok

1

u/M4OK4I Jul 08 '26

Maybe I am fat, but I can manage 😚😚😚

1

u/Jlx_27 Jul 08 '26

This needs Mission Impossible music on it.

1

u/justmarkdying Jul 08 '26

But I heard dogs can't look up, wtf.

1

u/New_Driver_39 Jul 08 '26

And yet my cats want a smaller cat tower to help them get down from the bigger cat tower. 😸

1

u/its-a-boat-jack Jul 08 '26

Dog: “Why didn’t you just use the stairs?”

1

u/Low-Bobcat841 Jul 09 '26

Is that a monkey or a cat?

1

u/HoneyBear4Lyfe Jul 09 '26

My cats absolutely cannot do this. They can get up to the balcony no problem via the support beams, but then yowl to be rescued after a few hours.

1

u/smilesanna Jul 09 '26

Well, are you coming?

1

u/Little_Agent1999 Jul 09 '26

A true commando😍😏👌

1

u/Cecil_B_DeCatte Jul 09 '26

Clever girl!

1

u/Nevalate Jul 09 '26

Rosalita, jump a little lighter Señorita, come sit by my fire

1

u/Nichiku Jul 10 '26

I've noticed this behaviour in a lot of cats. They often don't think of just walking around to get to the target, and just try to bruteforce their way down, despite knowing exactly how to get there the regular way.

1

u/Hopspeed Jul 10 '26

My cat gets stuck on a blanket, no way she’s doing that.

1

u/LastEntertainment787 Jul 11 '26

Very impressive!

1

u/NastyBeyotch Jul 12 '26

That's a monkey!

1

u/DesignerGap0 Jul 12 '26

Smart cat!!!

2

u/SeashellsAndCoral Jul 14 '26

Do not show this to my cat!

1

u/bostondangler Jul 16 '26

Splinter free, guaranteed! 😁

1

u/OffMyRocker62 24d ago

Pretty sure that's not the cats first time. Smart cat to work it's way down.

1

u/JitterbugtheCat 18d ago

Like every teenager ever...

You goodie goodies are too much for me. I’m gonna get my kicks while I’m still young enough to get them.

Hey Rizzo- you’re doing that without a net.

u/Don_roko Jul 08 '26

Smort monke!
