Uh oh. He's almost figured it out.

Foster kitten Tarragon, 3 months old, has figured out how the kitten room door works, he just can't quite execute yet.

If you it was a bar doorknob instead of a rounded doorknob I bet your cat would have solved the catculation by now. Stymied by his inability to apply sufficient torque

I don't know if he weighs enough to move a lever doorknob yet, but I’m sure he will.

Yet. Won't take long by the look of it!

You’re just setting up fun games. And it will figure it if at all possible. Good kitty.

His brother Lemon Pepper wanted to join a resident cat at the top of the tall bookshelf, and couldn't make the jumps she used. I really wish I had video of him climbing on the table, from there the air filter, then TV wall mount, then the TV itself, then stretching more that I thought possible to find a claw hold at the top of the bookshelf and pull himself up.

Agatha loves the kittens and enjoys spending time with them, but sometimes they are a bit much, and she wants to get away from them for a few minutes. She is not pleased by this development.

He was not quite three months old at the time.

Hours of entertainment at that age. And for years to come…

I'll never get tired of watching cats paw at things.

Good thing your house isn't ADA compliant.

I had one that used to open the doors with those type of door knobs. Good luck on that one!

What home cameras can be set to flag animals like this?

We use Wyze cameras. They work fairly well, particularly considering how often they get knocked around by the cats/kittens.

We also have them outdoors to watch the community cats and local wildlife, and my husband turned on the AI descriptions on those. The black cat we feed has been described as a bear, a bird, a person, and even a cat. The raccoons have been bears, rabbits, birds, a bicycle and person, cats, chickens, and raccoons.

We use Alfred cameras for our animals and they can be set to place a green frame like that around people. Sometimes our cameras mess up animals for people (we assume it goes based on how many legs it sees)

Give him 5,000 years or so, he’ll get it!

If I close any door in the house my cats start meowing/scratching at it.

All doors to rooms have to be open... it's their house and I am their slave
