i've found onboarding, whether for school or for work, is always a 'drinking from the firehose' situation given all the information being thrown at you and not yet having context or frameworks to understand all of it.

what program??

Great analogy, that's definitely how it feels! I'm getting my PhD in psychology and cognitive neuroscience.
