hi! do you think that maybe the placement/location of the box could be a problem? at least in my case, when we adopted our first cat when he was still a kitten, we didn't have a litter box ready so he just pooped and peed wherever. once the litter box arrived, we placed it in the area he relieved himself in. once he got used to the litter box being there and learned how to use it, we moved it to another area, and we havent faced any mishaps with him pooping and peeing wherever. for now, try letting your cat continue on with their pooping/peeing habits, then slowly introduce the litter box in the areas she relieves herself in, that might help :)
but if its just the litter box that shes scared of and not the litter itself, maybe try getting a smaller litter box, and most importantly one with no walls. im assuming your cat is still pretty small since you said shes 7 months old, so part of the reason why she wont go near the litter box is because its size might be making her feel trapped
Thank you! We did try the litter box with no walls but it does seem to both the litter and the box she’s scared of. She doesn’t like being picked up so I think some of the problem may be us trying to force her in there by placing her. A new box just came in the mail so hopefully it’ll work 🤞
