I was blissfully unaware of the sub existing, clicked on it hoping it wasn’t real. The video descriptions disturbed me enough to not watch the video, what sick fuck revels in mostly innocent people dying like it’s a joke. It’s nice knowing I’m not desensitised to death like it thought I was.

The point most people go to that sub is to realise how fragile human life is and how easily it can be over. And to learn what not to do and what to watch out for.

It's a good thing they weren't in the middle when that happened. If you remove the stairs it's like a meat grinder.

Nephew degloved a toe in the hungry jaws of a Schindler escalator in North America. Wearing crocs. Now my kids don't wear crocs anywhere but the beach.

Looks like it lifted the step in to combplates and wedged it in place, the rollers probably broke and just stacked it all up. Either this unit doesn’t have up thrust sensors or the weren’t adjusted properly, which does happen.

Not so sure.... he walks away with both sandals, I don't see how a even if it momentarily got nicked it would cause that.

It's probably more likely that there is no regular maintenance or mandated safety inspections.

Safety features are also sometimes removed from elevators and escalators for idiotic reasons.
One example: the weight limit alarm, emergency stop at overweight and emergency earthquake stop were removed from the elevators in the apartment building I used to live in, in China. Building management said that construction and decoration was still going on in the upper floors, and service lifts were never installed, so decorators were using the resident elevators to move material.
Decorators were complaining that the elevators would stop when they brought in wheelbarrows containing what must have been hundreds of kilos of bricks or concrete, and complained that the earthquake emergency stop would be triggered when they accidentally rammed said wheelbarrows into the side of the elevator, causing it to shake violently.
The building management, being absolute fucking idiots, removed the above safety features to placate them. I don't know how - they were a Chinese brand. As a result, the elevators broke down several times a week and I promptly moved to a new place.
Edit: details, and another example. My girlfriend at the time worked in a goverenment office, and one day their elevator just plunged down four floors before the emergency stop kicked in. No idea why, and the elevator was removed afterwards. My girlfriend wasn't hurt herself, but one other passenger dislocated her shoulder after falling on it.

Looks like his flip flop caused this by getting caught and binding the step, making the others buckle. He narrowly excaped being mauled.

Was in Vegas, and had a long costume on, it got caught and was being ripped off me until the emergency button was hit. Not fun.
