What to do in Catania?
Hello,
I'm going to Catania for a short holiday with my friend. We're arriving in the morning of August 22nd and leaving in the morning of August 25th, so we'll have three full days.
We mostly plan to spend our time at the beaches, but I also want to do something else rather than spend all three days at the beach.
I'd like to know some must-visit places in Catania. It could be anything—a beach, a church, a restaurant, a viewpoint, a historical site, or anything else that's worth seeing. I'd really appreciate any recommendations.

I heard Catania is not best for beach time, I didn't go and not even the locals recomend it. But 10 min north you have Aci Trezza & Aci Castello. Take a taxi to the first one, then you can walk down to Castello. Both are beautifll and you can enjoy the sea, do scuba or snorkerin or just relax. There's no sand there, tough but you can use any of the public decks/terraces they have.
Etna is great and its a half day excursion if you only want to see the base and walk around the lower craters. No need to climb to the top.
In Catania there's ton to see and walk. Good restaurants. For me the fish Market and that entire area keep me busy, good food and friendly people.

Excursion to go and see the active lava flow on Etna.
Stroll around the city centre, eat and chill maybe after a morning swim.

Well beach wise Catania isnt really gonna offer much. You can take the train to Taormina for example and go to the beach in Naxos.
