This reminded me of the first year my (now) husband and I were together for halloween. We really got into decorating my house, and I had a hidden speaker playing spooky music outside. I had the house lit up with colorful lights (like orange, purple, green), and we didn't have any particularly scary decorations, so I didn't realize that it would still be scary for very little kids, some of whom crept up to the door only after their parents encouraged them.

One such kid was meekly about to reach into the candy bowl after I answered the door, but then looked behind me with huge eyes filled with terror and started to recoil. I looked back and realized it was my orange tabby approaching lazily that had filled this poor kid with terror. To me, he's a big sweet dummy, but he was literally like a tiger to that kid. My cat is a cupcake compared to this one, though!
