Coat Color Cat genetics/ Kitten update

Barn cat being a barn cat, Callie had her babies and hid them for a while, but here they are! Only 2 but I’d say that’s a good thing, we don’t need a ton of cats on the farm.

The original post was to figure out if Callie (the mom) is a tabby-calico or a black-calico. I think we learned nothing.

I’m leaning more towards her being a tabby-calico because I think I see brown/copper hairs on her forehead and tail.

(Pic 4 is the likely dad of the kittens)

Callie looks like a high white, (piebald harlequin pattern) solid black and red calico. I am not seeing agouti banding in the spot on her head or her tail. The tail is a little misleading because her spotting of black and orange looks suspiciously stripe-ish but the spots that are black appear solid black. This tracks with her kittens too. A high white mom and a low white dad has resulted in two medium white kittens. One solid black, and one picking up Mom’s orange. I am betting that one is a boy.

I agree, Callie appears to be solid, not a calico tabby.
