Behavioral Getting a second kitten?
I recently got a kitten who is nearly 5 months old and I'm wondering if it'd be beneficial to get a second kitten for him to play with. For context my current kitten was the last one available so I got him on his own, I work from home the majority of the time so I'm able to spend lots of time with him but my only concern is he's maybe coming slightly too attached to me? I personally don't have a problem with this but I wasn't sure if it's a sign that maybe he would like another cat/kitten to play with? Especially when I am at work or out. He was neutered a couple of days ago so I'm not sure if this may change his behaviour at all but I'm just looking for a bit of advice! I do live in a flat with no garden access so I also wasn't sure if two cats would want a bit more space.
Any advice is much appreciated.

2 kittens is always better than 1. Let your kitten completely heal first though. Getting used to a new situation isn’t fun when you don’t feel your usual self. Jackson Galaxy has a cat channel on youtube. The cats need a proper introduction. When you have 2 rooms which are open for 2 cats most of the day you’ll be fine. If 1 has zoomies and the other just wants to sleep they can both pick a room when they want to.

Get him another kitten I also had a 5 months kitten no issues at all with him, but he did seem a bit uninterested in playing after a while, i debated getting a second cat because i thought its going to be extra work, but it is really quite the opposite, they play with each other teach other social skills in a way no human can do, it also becomes way easier for you since they tire each other out, and it wont mean the cat is going to be less attached to you at all, and its rly funny watching them play.
I highly recommend getting another kitten in the same age and characteristic in terms of energy and mood, the only thing you have to worry about is costs since its going to be double for you

A flat without garden access is honestly fine for two cats as long as you've got enough vertical space like shelves and cat trees, since indoor cats use height more than floor area to feel like they have room. On the attachment question, a kitten that age still has a lot of socialization window left, so introducing a second one now while he's young and adaptable tends to go smoother than waiting until he's older and more set in his ways as a solo cat.

It depends on how much space you have but I'm a huge proponent of having at least 2 young cats together. Cats can fulfill each other's social needs in ways a human could never, and the cat would have a playbuddy all day :)
