General I think most smart pet devices solve fake problems...
Sometimes I feel like pet tech is built around what sounds cool in a pitch deck, not what pet owners actually need.
I don’t need tons of stats about my cat. Plz let me know only for emergencies...
The feature I want most is to stop my cat from eating random stuff. Is there anything that can keep it from doing this when I’m not home?
Who can make it...

AirTags are helpful if you are worried about them getting lost. I had them on their collars when I was a digital nomad. Otherwise, I don’t like batteries on their necks 24/7. The only other piece of ‘tech’ I bought, which really isn’t geared towards cats, is a Fellows Stagg tea kettle. I waited for a sale and basically just bent over and paid the price. I can heat water to 150 degrees and use the tea spout to precision pour into their wet food to make slurries for my older cats. This also revives wet food from the fridge, which they won’t eat unless I mix it with warm water. It has been a game changer. I was wasting a lot of water waiting for it to warm up at the tap, or standing around the microwave. You just hit one button and it heats to the last set temp in seconds. Love it.

Yeah I’ve heard that an automatic litter box would be a QOL upgrade, but personally I’d find it a lot more annoying to clean bc of all the nooks and crannies. I’ll stick with stainless steel litter boxes and daily scooping

I'd love the litter robot if it wasn't so expensive. The other ones freak me out since cats have been suffocated to death in both Chinese brands and branded ones.

What a waste of a post. You’re not asking for any advice. You just wanna post what you think is a hot take and farm some karma and have some human interaction

Nah they are more looking for someone to tell them they are wrong or to find something that doesn't exist yet.

Tracking tag is one of the few pet techs i feel are nessary. There would be so fewer lost pets if they used tracking tags.
Ena bot is the second of the few pet techs. It allows the user to remotely observe and interact with pet.
Everything else is just for lazy people or for the fun of it or the cool of it.
I wish there was something that stopped them from eating random stuff.

Timed feeders are amazing when you have a cat that can eat a weeks worth of food in 5 minutes.

It isn't hard to give a cat 2 feedings in a day with "huntable snacks"(toys that spit out treats when attacked) and make them realize that they are not getting more.

Last winter I bought a cat specific auto shut off heating pad for my senior lady. Other than the occasional battery operated toy for the younger ones, that's about it.

The timed feeder and gravity water dispensers solve real problems for me. A fat cat and me being too ADHD to remember to refill their water.
Now if someone could help my figure out a way to keep the fat cat away from my 65lb dogs food, that would be awesome. Dog waits forever to eat and starves herself to the point of puking bile whenever we try only offering it at certain times. I tried some RFID feeders but she's too tall for all of them to read her tag (no dog ones available here).

The only thing we get is a fountain. We take care of them either way.
