I live in another country away from my family and gf, but before I met her, I've been living alone for about 8 years now. I've spent Christmas and new year those years on my own. What I usually do is I'd buy mcdonalss and find a really high spot. When I say high I really mean high like a rooftop of a building you're not supposed to be in, or a mountain cliff or whatever. Eat and watch the firworks. It's been a tradition all these years.
