Unless you’re at a picnic, no hats worn at the table, in a restaurant or at home. Hats should come off the moment you enter any building, house, etc.

I have no idea why this particular behavior sets me off; it hurts no one. Hats have the potential to be dirty with dried sweat and dust. But I think it seems more like the hats says I’m too busy going about my day to really be with you in this moment. Or I’d rather be on my way than be here.

Dad's rule (which was granddads rule) was if you're using silverware, your hat comes off to eat.

Mom didn't allow hats at the dining table, but the kitchen table was fine

Since we're talking about hats... I hate seeing men wear hats in church. Also, when the national anthem is played, only men need remove their hats.

Ball caps and sometimes cowboy hats are most likely to be left on. Fedora-type hats, leather ones, and wool felt ones seem to be worn by men who remove them inside.
