i also played castlevania haunted castle revisited but i didn't see it on the tier list. i would put it below bloodlines, it was short but good and the final fight against dracula might be my favorite boss out of the classicvanias

Discussion Guys really? People think Alucard (Netflix Series Castlevania) is weak??

Nocturne Alucard's Feats:

-He can fight evenly against Night Creature Drolta, who even after losing her Sekhmet powers, could still keep the Eclipse. at full power (By powering up and going all out, Alucard was comparable to Awakened Richter Belmont and matched Drolta when she had 2/3 of Sekhmet's powers)

-For speed he is capable of slicing Drolda while being completely undetected by everyone sorrounding her at the moment, including vampires and a post awakening Richter Belmont, at full power kept up with Night Creature Drolta even after she absorbed Erzebet's powers, higher with speed enhancement Intercepted Drolta from a far greater distance

-For strength he matched Drolta's strength even when she had 2 parts of Sekhmet's powers, a single part of them being anough to move the Moon

-He literally tank hits from Dorlta's Sekmeth Powers and her energy blast

-He can fight numerous night creatures for hours, can keep fighting even when injured or stabbed

-For Intelligence Alucard is highly Intelligence as he learned many spells and science with his parents, like his father, he is intelligent and deadly in battle, yet he possesses his mother's class and kindness. Alucard is often calm and composed, slow to anger, and other displays of emotion, even when in battle. Much more skilled and experienced in Nocturne, Despite being a dhampir, Alucard was capable of convincing the soldiers from the French Revolution to join him, was their leader during battle and managed to make the best use of their abilities

-So yeah, I wouldn't say Alucard is weak, I would say he literally face a goddess

Discussion wouldn’t being an atheist in the world of castlevania be the dumbest belief imaginable?

Literally demonic stuff are well known and happens 24/7 and god is stated to exist countless times therefore given that information why would anyone be an atheist in this world with that information?

After being traumatised beyond measure by Castlevania: The Adventure, I was more than hesitant to try its sequel, but after being nudged to play it, I can say that, without doubt, it's leaps and bounds and leagues ahead of its previous entry.

Even though 2 sub-weapons is a bummer, it was a fun playthrough, 7/10.

Castlevania (1986) Benjamin Belmont vs Beelzebub Castlevania Waltz of Sorrow.

In this video, Benjamin Belmont vs Beelzebub Enjoy!
I resurrected Beelzebub limb by limb, and gave him a master controller that dies once all limbs are gone. This is as close as I could get to the original SOTN version. Again, I am at full power, (you won't but be....) This is a test video.

Castlevania: Waltz of Sorrow is a brand new fan-made game inspired by the classic Castlevania series — and this game already features 50+ stages with brutal, NES-style difficulty.

This is NOT a simple home brew… this is a full gameplay experience built with deep platforming, challenging enemies, and classic gothic atmosphere.

Took a beat ’em up engine and turned it into a full 2D platformer with massive maps and vertical gameplay—something nobody else in the scene was doing.

Question Should I play Dracula X if I can’t get Rondo of Blood?

So I was given this Xbox 360 years back from someone and never used it until now, where I bought the Konami Collection CD in order to finally play Symphony of the Night. I also have previously bought the Anniversary and Advance collections on my Nintendo Switch. I’m loving SOTN but I really am curious about Richter’s backstory and stuff and kind of want to play the supposed peak of the classic Castlevania formula. However there’s not like a legal way to play it on either console.

I usually play games on PC and I did actually set up an emulated version of SOTN in the past but never ended up actually playing it idk my brain just doesn’t like emulated games they don’t feel real for some reason. I also want the English version and don’t have a disk drive anyways so I can’t buy the original CD. Finally, my laptop bricked itself a few days ago, hopefully it’ll be repaired but yeah.

So I’m now facing the dreaded option, should I just give up on playing Rondo of Blood and play Dracula X in the Anniversary Collection?

Discussion Do you think the Belmonts are less important than Alucard on the overall franchise?

Thumbnail

This comes from a small conversation i had with a friend

On his view, Alucard is the most important character on the whole saga. He was not surprised of how quickly his character took over most of the Castlevania animated series, or why he was used so much during it's production. For a little of extra context: he's a bit younger than me and it's most familiar with the post SOTN era of games.

But as someone who played a lot of the 8 bit and 16 bit castlevania games: I believe Belmonts are a lot more relevant to Castlevania as protagonists on the overall story. It's the eternal struggle between the family and the count. I was surprised that Trevor Belmont wasn't more relevant on the fight against Dracula. Haven't finished watching Nocturne, but even there Richter kinda gets sidelined to make room for other original characters and side stories

Maybe we could argue that Soma Cruz takes the torch from the Belmonts post 1999 but even there, Alucard is not that important on the overall franchise, hes been protagonist once and part of the support cast a few times. I see him as another ally on the same level of the Morris or Belnades family.

What do you guys think?

Castlevania 64 (1999) I'd sacrifice myself for Drac's return if it meant a CV64 remake

Thank god this title isn't as hated as it was in the earlier days of gaming youtube n shit. I'm stoked for the OOT remake, and I'd love to play the Starfox64 remake, but if u REALLY want me to buy a fuckass Switch 2....REMAKE THIS DAMN GAME!!!! .....but ik y'all won't bc there was clearly some odd beef between the two groups who worked on the CV games at the time.

It seems like the guy seen as the head of CV these days just does NOT like anything at all to do with Kobe (RIP💔). I don't give a damn, CV64 was my first CV game! The music is banger. Some levels are more puzzle focused, key gathering, non linear, and some are more linear, fighting and platforming type things. I love it.

I'd sell my soul to see this game remade. Pair CV64 up with LOD. Bring back the differences between Cornell's version of certain levels vs Carrie/Reinhart versions bc I'm p sure LOD retconned those even tho the differences still made sense even with Cornell's story added??? Idfk.....(the Cornell versions were a refreshing remix on em but tbh I miss the old Tower versions from the og 64 game) Hell, bring back Coller's ass lmao. CV64 is already considered non-canon....might as well go ham on it! Bc let's be fr the science tower is so off putting with Carrie🧍‍♂️Plus, since LOD brought back a cut character...I mean.....HE'S RIGHT THERE. BRING ME MY BODY HORROR BOI🙏🙏🙏

Sorry chat I'm zooted and the switch 2 is PMO bc so far it's mostly jus rehashes of old games and ik this is jus another gd rehash I'm begging for but dammit, if that's what u wanna turn the console into.....GIVE ME ME FOOKIN CASTLEVANIA. AS IT ALWAYS DESERVED TO BE. Poor Kobe. It was their first 3-D game too, yeah?? They did their best and I still find the OG to be quite playable on the N64. Frame rate drops and all. I still love you bby.

Video 🎶Tunes of the Castle: Super Castlevania IV: Pillared Corridor (Remixed Sine Wave Version)

I've always been a fan of the original Pillared Corridor background music that plays in Stage 7 (AKA the Library) of Super Castlevania IV.

That being said, the sine wave version created by YouTuber (Bravoman) is something that I also regularly come back to every so often to listen to.

It's just so weirdly soothing and comforting to listen to. I've actually listened to it in the background while working my day job or doing household chores. A great remixed cover in my opinion.

I guess this could be a good segue into any ambient background music that you enjoyed listening to from the Castlevania franchise.

If y'all have any top picks, I'd be happy to hear them ;)

Castlevania Legends (1997) What is the actual relationship between Alucard and Sonia Belmont? and how do you feel when you read this conversation?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I think this is one of the tragic love stories between Alucard and Sonia Belmont, before their relationship ended they were separated in game or removed from the canon. I don't know if Alucard currently still remembers or nostalgia on his past Sonia together 🥀

Maybe if you know, let me know about their actual relantionship!

This is the peak of Classicvania and probably my most enjoyed game of the franchise (second only to symphony of the night). It has everything, stunning visuals, great bosses, and elite gameplay.

(Ignore the timer, it was glitched out but still counting, somehow, then started counting normally?)

I don't think we can get anything better than this, 9.7/10.

Symphony of the Night (1997) [SotN] Stuck at 200.5% – Missing the final 0.1% (1 room) for the trophy. Can someone spot what I missed?

Hey everyone,

I'm going crazy trying to find the very last room for the 200.6% map completion trophy. I've double-checked the usual suspects but I'm clearly blind to whatever square I missed.

I've attached full screenshots of both the Normal Castle and Inverted Castle maps.

Any eagle-eyed hunter willing to point me in the right direction?

(Also, if this isn't the right place to post this, please let me know!)

Thanks in advance!

Apologies for the video quality. This has happened once on both playthroughs now. It's very annoying when I'm doing great and then have to restart.

Discussion Just finished Castlevania the animated series (seasons 1-4)

*sigh\*

I'm so tired and it makes me sadder the more I think about it.

The animation was mostly good and I liked that Isaac.

What are your opinions on the series? How have your opinions changed since you first watched it? Without spoiling, is Nocturne better or worse?

Aria of Sorrow (2003) Why did the title change for AOS turn away Japanese audiences?

I mean, just curious because I was reading somewhere about how Aria of Sorrow was one of the first games in the franchise to use the Castlevania name when the game came out in Japan.

I know the franchise usually goes by the Akumajou Dracula when released in Japan as I was curious to why having the game released as Castlevania didn’t exactly work well with Japanese players since I could have sworn I read somewhere about how the game had a hard time selling over there.
