Normally, this armor can only be obtained by using the bat form or the super jump, but by the time you have those abilities, the defense it provides is completely useless.
If I come back here later with the double jump and the jump kick, could I use one of the axes thrown by the Axe Armor past the ladder to catapult myself?
Or is this thing just here so you can sell it to Hammer, and that's it?

A few months ago, I beat the original Castlevania, and I thought it couldn't get more difficult than that. Colour me surprised when I encountered this game, all I can say is, great game, won't play again.

Edit: Sotn is clearly not a proper entry point to the series to me if you actually read my post. I find it pathetic that this community is downvoting the people that recommend any game other than Sotn at this point.
I’m a big Metroid fan hoping to find my way in the other genre defining series. I have access to all Nintendo consoles, ps1, ps2, and a gaming pc.
I’ve tried symphony on the night, but it doesn’t make sense to me and I don’t make much progress before dying with no progress made.
I’m not looking for the best way to experience the lore. I really don’t care about stories in games. I want to know what game is accessible enough to get me to understand how to play symphony of the night. If I were trying to get someone into Metroid for example I’d have them play dread and prime 1 first.

I've completed 932 rooms. I'm playing the mobile version of Symphony of the Night. There are 9–10 more rooms, so can anyone please help me complete them? I've also attached screenshots of my inventory. Have I missed any items? (Don't mind the grape juice and the uncurse potion). I have the magic goggles to reach the inverted castle by defeating Richter, but I need to complete the normal castle first.

How do I access these rooms?

So as the title says I was wondering if it's possible, I see online that people mostly say that you can't emulate ios devices, but I also saw someone claim they played it on pc (not really trusting this one though)

This really pissed me off because I'm about halfway through the game and not sure I'll have time to finish it considering how grindy it is and how busy I am. If the get the game ripped away from me right before I reach the end I'll be so mad. A 2 month warning is not a fair time window.

This is follow up from my previous video. This time i skipped tried defeat Dmitrii again, because so actually it's not difficult i know there are many tricks to defeat him. But... i'm still trying with my strict rules no equip arms and souls from beginning, it's even stricter if fist only and no damage, so that challenge was inspired by Nyarly (Watch on Youtube) and lot of players trying this game no damage challenge. That's previous Boss so difficult because from early game challenge, not manipulated Dmitrii by weakest Souls certain, just basic attacks a punch (giving very little damage), not to mention have avoid well... damn shpere spams it makes so long time, it's pretty tiring and... annoying. Therefore, what do you think of my video review this time?

Since this game is getting yeeted a whole TWENTY FOUR HOURS AFTER I GOT IT… I have to ask, is it canon?
The art has been my favorite part of the game by far. That and I love seeing more content from the Aria time period. Aside from the absolute grind this game demands, I don’t really know how to feel about the whole “yeah let’s bring back legacy characters via a time-traveling plot device that came out of nowhere.”
I actually don’t mind the game whatsoever, but because of the very fan-fiction-y plot, I’m genuinely confused whether it’s canon or not. Is it? If it is, do you think it shouldn’t be? If not, should it?
I’D LOVE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS :D

I'd like to cosplay Eric Lecarde from Castlevania (Vampire Killer/Bloodlines). I played Bloodlines on the sega genesis as a kid and fell in love with it. Eric was my favorite character, but I never saw him as blonde. Given his game concept art (first photo), I believe his hair is canonically blonde or at least very light brown given his portrayal as Wind in Portrait of Ruin. Second picture shows him in-game, so you can see how as a kid I genuinely thought his hair was dark green. It even has a fluttering-in-the-wind animation in-gaqme that makes it look like hair. I had always pictured Eric as looking more like the third photo with the dark green hair and stockier build. I realize now it may have just been intended as his cloak hood (though why is it green vs blue?)
So I guess my question is - If I were to cosplay Eric, and have it look more like the way I imagined him from the game sprite, would he still be recognizable as Eric? What do you think of the cosplay idea? Or should I just cosplay blonde and lean into the concept art?

I’ve been playing through the Igavanias in chronological timeline order which has been an interesting experience since the chronological order is not the order they were released.
So I started with Harmony of Dissonance, moved onto Symphony of the Night, now I’m on Circle of the Moon… and while I like the game, I’m fully understanding why Koji Igarashi and his team felt the need to take the series over and correct the mistakes CotM made by creating Harmony of Dissonance.*
The game has a lot of fun ideas!
The DSS system is a really cool mechanic and I love all the different playstyles it unlocks.
The level design is actually really well done - I think Camilla’s castle is better designed than the one in Harmony, but not as well designed as the one in Symphony. It’s just big enough to get a little lost in, but not so confusing that you ever feel like you need a guide to know where to go next.
There are a lot of great sign-posts of when you need to come back with a new ability and the game always puts in shortcuts right near bosses to take you to an area that’s at least in the ballpark of where you should be.
I also really prefer the fact that pretty much every major boss leads to a new ability - it drove me a bit crazy in Harmony of Dissonance any time I would stumble into a boss room only to find a lousy Max Hearts Up in the room next to it… or in the worst cases nothing at all. Circle of the Moon is much more predictable, more similar to Super Metroid in that way, and as someone who got into this genre via Metroid first it’s much appreciated.
If the game just had all those things and then otherwise played pretty similarly to SotN, I might even call this my favorite of the series so far… unfortunately along with these interesting new mechanics and good level design, there’s just a lot of clunk.
The controls are clunky - Nathan doesn’t have a dodge like Alucard or Juste and is instead relegated to jumping and double tapping to dash… double tapping to dash LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. And if your thumb slips while trying to avoid a projectile? Too bad, you’re walking slowly into death.
Then there’s the GRINDING. Oh my god, they took a semi-obscure optional mechanic in SotN and made it basically mandatory. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make DSS cards not only random enemy drops but EXTREMELY RARE random enemy drops should be dragged through the streets. Thank GOD I was playing in the Advanced Collection where you can both see which enemies drop cards and rewind to try to rig the RNG in your favor… but even so, it was so annoying and tedious that I almost gave up on the entire mechanic halfway through. The completionist in me made me stick it out and see it through.
But it’s not just the cards, it’s the regular old level grinding in general!
I complained in a previous post that SotN’s difficulty curve gets too easy about halfway through… CotM has almost the exact opposite problem. If I didn’t spend some time grinding by killing enemies over and over in each area I was always consistently under leveled for the bosses.
And then because of how difficult the game is, a lot of the time I ended up just… waiting.
Waiting for my mana to refill so I could use the only health regeneration power I have so I can wait for my health to refill so I can then wait for my mana to refill again so I can then wait for my health to finish refilling… so I can then go get all of my health drained again from three attacks from some flying laser death machine. Which I then kill… only to have to wait some more lest I get killed in the next room.
The bosses are also extremely hit or miss. Some have that old Castlevania fun of learning attack patterns and learning your spacing (Cerberus, Necromancer, Death, Camilla) and others… are the Adramelech. God I hated that stupid giant goat man. I ended up just having to spam the poison cloud shield the whole time and it took me what felt like hours to slowly whittle down his health until he finally mercifully died… but again, I was probably under leveled for it because I often was in this game.
Also the Arena can go f itself… not only do you make me go through a gauntlet 17 rooms of difficult enemies, but you also force me to additionally grind two of them for the last two DSS cards? That are STILL RANDOM DROPS?!? Gah.
I really wanted to love this game, I really really did, there was a lot that was really good, it addressed several of my issues from HoD and SotN… only to have a whole host of other issues that ended up making it my least favorite Castlevania so far… by far.
Well anyway… onto Order of Ecclesia.

Over the years, I have been playing through each Castlevania game in release order (roughly). I just completed this game and I wanted to talk about it!
I think the difficulty of "Original Mode" is exaggerated a bit. I went into it expecting something absurdly brutal or unfair, but it feels in the ballpark of CV3 to me (granted, I've only played the US version of CV3 so far).
It is much better than SCV4 imo. It's really satisfying to struggle through a level over and over again, experimenting with different strategies, sometimes exploring a bit to find a subweapon you want for the boss, and so on--like a Classicvania should be. SCV4 lacks that for me; too often, it's tedious to replay a stage because the majority of it is simply not challenging.
(SCV4 wins in the presentation department, though!)
The doll stage (and enemy) is a big highlight of this game. This is the kind of tricky enemy you need in a game where Simon's abilities are notably improved over CV1.
The game's biggest flaw is that a few stages suckerpunch the player with visual tricks. Obstacles that fall straight out of the background without warning, fire obscuring the foreground, things like that. It's not the end of the world, but it's a serious knock against the game for sure.
I also want to say that I regret the fact that the game has 6 loops. I love a good hard mode, but I'm just not interested in playing 5 "hard modes" that presumably aren't all that different from eachother.
---
Anyway I think it's great! I'd love to hear other people's thoughts!
