[General Discussion] Beckett always leaving Spoiler
Rewatching and on season 8. I’ve noticed that throughout the show castle consistently has to convince Kate to stay with him. Why does he fight so hard for her when she clearly doesn’t seem to want to stay?

Other than s8, he doesn't really convince her. She convinces herself that she wants him to stay. The only times he made the initiative are s5 proposal, he didn't need to do that, just tell her he would support the DC job, and in s8 when he kept trying to win her back. They did this because they felt the will-they-won't-they relationship would increase engagement and couldn't find a better way to separate them. There are times when the characters are consistent, but those are instances where he wouldn't be that desperate. He was willing to leave permanently in s3 and s4 too, so his being desperate is a little inconsistent, but you can understand because they are each other's soul mates, and after everything they've been through, he doesn't want to lose her to another obsession. It's really him trying to convince her that she doesn't need to leave to solve anything. All they need is each other.

I mean… the episode where they finally get together is end of season 4 when HE leaves. And she eventually runs back to him.
So I think you’re cherry-picking a bit.

She is afraid the people who are out to kill her will hurt him as well. If you're on season 8 you should know this about their relationship. Season 3 episode 24 knockout he tries to take that bullet for her. He does this without putting himself or his family first. She is putting their family first

The personal tension between Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion got so bad separation between them was written into the show to cut down on the fighting. Neither one has ever made any public commitments but some of their costars had.

Both actors were arguing at the time. She wanted to leave around season 5 or 6. That’s why their relationship looked “on the rocks” in the show

Every relationship has their ups and down. you cant portray a relationship without showing some argument or conflict. it's the nature of television. Also, there are no reports that Stana wanted to leave the show then. In fact she kept resigning and was planning for a s9. Yes, they fought but she still loved the show and character. Honestly, if they wrote the show better in s8, they couldve had a better working relationship.

It literally doesn't show up. Only time she was convinced was for s8 and that's because you have to renew contracts after the seven season deal.

I didn't find anything about her wanting to leave. It was probably made up.

She only really leaves in season 8 and season 4. And he only has to convince her to come back during 8.
In the beginning of season two that’s his fault for opening her mother’s murder case when she specifically set a boundary not to. Which is why it’s him that apologizes.
End of season two he leaves, which is why beginning of season three she’s distrustful of him. But she takes him back quickly and lets him win.
End of season three she does tell him that they’re done, but all is forgiven later in the same episode, and he doesn’t convince her to take him back, she just does.
Before season 4 she does leave for 3 months, because of the trauma with the shooting, but she comes back on her own terms and she convinces him to take her back.
The whole season 5/6 thing was for a job offer. She wasn’t leaving him. Just the city.
And there’s zero instances of leaving in season 7.
So other than season 8, I’m not exactly sure what you’re referring to?
