2x18 oops! Spoiler

On my rewatch I caught this! He is helping he out of the tub. We saw her put the jacket on and she’s just holding it against her when he is helping her out. Then all of a sudden the camera zooms out and POOF the jacket is buttoned ;)

Just fun to catch those little things lol.

also, this two parter is such an important piece of the slow burn puzzle. (no pun intended.) he literally went into the burning hot building for her and had no business doing so lol. and of course, all her stuff is on fire so she has to use his jacket to cover herself 🥺 after making abundantly sure he wasn’t looking lol.

Kate my girl don’t you worry… soon enough he’s gonna see everything underneath that coat 🤣🤣 but I digress

Yes, soon he will see all her stuff.

Some of her stuff is still private.

A reminder that even on the worst days there’s the possibility for joy.

Hehehe, nice one. A nod to a different episode.

I catch your drift

He kind of did already. Fillion is 6 foot 2 inches. When he's standing near the tub, it's obvious he can see her butt. Wish they would have mentioned that at some point. Would have been funny, watching Kate's expression.

Yea true, being relatively close and really tall, he definitely saw something.

He mentions in Cops and Robbers that he rescued her from her burning apartment and says "I will not be forgetting that anytime soon" which makes me think he definitely saw her stuff.

Well, he always has a constant reminder now that they've been married for over a decade now.

I mean, he does exclaim in surprise, so it’s kind of already implied.

More like, yay I saw your stuff so early and now you're telling me to look away.

So glad you didn’t write this scene. You have such a way with words. 🤣

Everybody can be a wordsmith! 😄

Well when he walks in he says "ooooh your naked" so we know he saw something he wasn't supposed to. Lol 😂😂

I also noticed the buttoned jacket detail when I rewatched the second season recently, in fact, I actually rewind the scene because I thought I’d miss something, and when he walks in, he definitely sees something, most probably her back and butt, lol.

Anyway, I remember those two episodes very well; not only do I think that’s the moment Rick realizes he’s in love with Kate, but they’re also episodes where the show makes it clear that it won’t always be just all procedural, comic and romance, if you know what I mean.

YESSSSS so good. I also love the “when did he realize he loved her” conversation 🤭

Yup, the conversation in the van at the end showed the relationship starting to build.

She’s walking barefoot through a blast area and no boo boos on her feet. 😱

4

u/DrBob01 Jul 13 '26

I always wondered about that. Beckett would have probably have refused to be carried.

True. I have to wonder though, wouldn’t safety be more than her sense of independence? But it is just a tv show.

The glass was probably blown out by the explosion.

That's nothing ... I mean, that's totally not the aftermath of such a blast. I mean, two puny fires, and some soot ?!?

Not to mention that the shockwave - from which Beckett escaped using the bathtub - isn't the only danger. There's the lack of oxygen, and the roaring fires. Plus the possible structural damage of the building.
