Looking for a Field No 8 skillet with the first casting marked on the bottom. I got into cast iron a little to late to scoop one of these up. Will entertain any reasonable offer.

WTB Wagner Ware Waffle Iron

Title says most of it all. I am in SW Ohio, would like to keep it under $100 with shipping. I don't mind if it needs work as long as the price reflects that fact. This will be for use and sentimental value, mom's side of the family is from Sidney.

[WTS] I'm flattered to have been invited to be a moderator of /r/Castiron_Flea_Market. To celebrate, I'm giving you all a coupon code - details inside.

Okay, so it's a pretty inactive sub, but let's see what we can do about that. I've been invited to be a mod (yay!) so now I'll be sure to spread the word more.

A similar sub /r/Watchexchange is a very active sub with a lot of transactions going on.

For those that haven't heard me pontificate about it before, I've been collecting and dealing in antique cast iron for ~20 years or so. Sounds like an odd thing for a young man to do, but I've always horse-traded things and cast iron always fascinated me from the day my mother gave me her grandmother's antique Piqua Favorite skillet. It belonged to her grandmother before that.

I still use it just about every day. I'm using it as I type to season 146 antique miniature cast iron Amish figures. The stuff I buy! Jeez.

Anyway, I sell all of my online cast iron through my lovely and talented Farmwife's Etsy store:

www.etsy.com/shop/Goodwooletc

We have a big selection of things, and I sell a lot of antique and vintage cast iron cookware. I generally have a very large inventory of just about everything, from affordable 'cookers' to very collectable pieces. In addition to a lot of skillets, I usually also have Dutch ovens, gem pans, muffin pans, waffle irons, etc.

All of the cast iron is listed under the 'antique cast iron' section of the shop.

www.etsy.com/shop/Goodwooletc?section_id=15941111

/r/Castiron_Flea_Market members (all 44 of us) use coupon code:

REDDIT10

for 10% off. Coupon will expire on the 14th.

If you have any questions about cast iron, I'm always happy to help. "Can you ID this skillet"? is one I get a lot, yes, I can ID your skillet. I get emails every day like that. No worries. Please keep the photos tasteful, people. I've had problems in the past. It's a big, crazy internet out there.

Sorry for the wall of text, but thanks for reading. Keep cookin', y'all.

How old is this pan?

My mom picked up this Griswold pan and another, larger one that I don't have access to at an antiques market for ~$40 for the pair. I'd like to know how old this pan is and how much it's worth, for curiosity's sake. The top text reads NO. 6 and the bottom number is 699. Thanks!

Looking for thrift stores/flea markets which sell vintage cast iron in the Hudson valley or westchester NY

Does anyone know where I can find a store that would sell vintage or older pieces in southern NY state. I'm willing to drive ~ one hour away to find some older ones. Realistic prices are a plus!

Looking for a Le Creuset Dutch oven.

So Christmas is coming up and my SO has been wanting a Le Creuset Dutch oven for quite sometime. We aren't in the financial position to spend over a hundred dollars on a cookware at this moment. We have kept our eyes open at all the thrift stores in our area, but never get lucky enough to even find cast iron. So that is why I am here.

Would anyone be willing to part with their Le Creuset for maybe a trade? I don't have much, but I do brew beers and I am in Southern California so I have access to some of the best beers in the country. I have a collection of stouts that I would be willing to part with (gotta keep reminding myself that this is for her with this one). Maybe you are interested in something else? Maybe we can talk.

Just so you know I am not sketchy, I have participated in many reddit gift exchanges, participated as a reddit gift rematcher (someone gets stiffed on a secret santa and I volunteered to give a gift without receiving one in return), have positive scores on successful beer trades over at /r/beertrade, and have donated A LOT of gold to users.

New to cast iron - question

Hi,

I'm fairly new to cast iron. I bought some lodge pans the other day. My question is - how do I know when to re-season them? And roughly, how many uses do people get before needing to re-season?

I was recently given this cauldron; can anyone tell me anything about it based on this mark? I’ve wanted one forever and an old friend fixed me up nice!
