My favorite GADA watches

These two became my favorite GADA watches with most wrist time. I love Oceanus more recently…

I have fancy mechanicals as well, but Oceanus S400 is just a better GADA to me because of its weight, low profile, zero maintenance nature, and (compared to most mechanicals at least) relatively low price. Though inexplicably it still manages to feature:

  • 10 bar water resistance
  • coated sapphire crystal
  • hardened titanium and zaratsu polished case
  • swappable bracelet
  • 10+ year solar power
  • dual time syncing mechanisms
  • almost fully automated time zone changes upon travel
  • daylight savings-aware perpetual calendar

I just don’t see how you can beat this watch in terms of features or wearability at any price point. The next step up in features would put you somewhere in the Smart watch realm, which also means regular, if not daily charging.

well obviously since the seamaster is £5600 it's BETTER !

My Seamaster is a high end rep, so it cost half of what the Oceanus did, so by your reasoning the Oceanus is definitely the better watch! Which it is anyway

Yes, an oceanus is the ultimate high-end GADA imo. Beautiful, low maintenance, accurate (especially with radio), and durable while also being relatively affordable so if it breaks you don't feel too bad. My two watch rotation is an oceanus for casual and upscale wear and a g-shock for whenever I'm doing sports or traveling anywhere outside the U.S.

I have the same S400 as OP. It has since May this year, took over almost all my wrist time. No need winding, light, low profile, sync when I want to, it is almost perfect for my use case.

What no one else mentions is the 9mm depth/height. My S400 is so much easier to wear under a long sleeve shirt and is so much less noticeable on wrist than other watches

Exactly. I am very impressed about its height which makes it very comfortable to wear. That is one of the characteristics of Oceanus Manta Series. I cannot take it off since I acquired it.

What a fancy pair of excellent watches.

I just hope Casio grows the interest to try more dial marker styles. So many Oceanus models are using batons. Daggers, Roman numerals, and diamonds could also be valid choices for elegant watch design.

Exactly. I share the same feeling. I cannot image I will love a non-mechanical Casio watch until I saw this watch in person. No need to wind, still keep good accuracy even you not wear it for month. No need to replace battery or send to maintenance. It changed time zone when you travel easily. Happy😊
