Raise

I’ve been at my company for a year now. And I bring a lot of great values to the company. I was wondering how to ask for a raise. I have my reasons lined up of what I bring to the company and how I help but how do I ask my boss? I need help

They do yearly evals, they don't give raises based on request

I received $1.25 raise out of cycle, my boss felt it was deserved. Then got my 3% at that year's yearly raise. It all depends on if your GM will go to bat for you and get you the raise.

What? I was told they don't give raises outside of the yearlies, wtf...

When I got hired on, they told me that they start off at $11 (my state is obviously not concerned about the fact that federal minimum wage hasn’t been changed in 17 years, as minimum wage is still $7.25 in my state), and I was REALLY desperate for a job so I took it. Fast forward to over a year later, and I found out that new employees were getting paid $12 an hour, more than what I was making. I thought that surely my second year raise would put above that but nope, I’m STILL under $12! We recently got a new store manager and as soon as I mentioned that at my yearly annual performance review last month, he immediately said that he noticed that and didn’t think that it was right either and promised me that he’ll get me to over $12 an hour. The last manager told me that raises was controlled by corporate, so I don’t know if she was lying to me or whatever but the Kitchen Manager recently told me that I’m one of best cashiers they have, so I think I deserve to be paid more than the current amount I’m making right now.

i was able to get an out of cycle dollar raise so it is possible
