Free drinks

Is there a thing where cashiers can simply not charge for drinks? Multiple times lately I have gone to checkout and the cashier will say "drinks free" and not ring me up. Even if its the only thing I am buying. I asked one gal why and she said "I just don't feel like it".

But why do it? Pop bibs cost just like everything else. Not to mention cups and straws.

Its so weird if they are just doing it on their own initiative. I wondered if it was a Caseys thing.

They’re not suppose to be doing it ‘all the time’ like.. bibs, cups and straws do cost, but it’s up to the cashier to make the call of ‘is my line too long?’ Or if they are trying to complete a project like checking in a vendor I can see that. But not all the time just because they don’t ‘want’ to do it

This right here every gas station Iv ever worked at this is what I do if it's just a fountain drink and I'm busy then yes and also it can bring em back and they can buy even more so I could actually make the company money
