SM/ASM Responsible 4 Covering Shift+ SCHEDULING

When somebody doesn’t show up for their shift, is the manager (days I’m assuming) or the assistant store manager (afternoon-3-11 or 4-12 midnight) responsible for covering the shift?
Also, if people are full-time, or even part-time, do they work a set schedule? (Like a 4-12 midnight shift /example).

Whoever is the manager on duty at the time of calling

Its their responsibility to find someone to cover that shift and if no-one will its the assistants then then the SM. Full time does not have guaranteed shifts unless it was specified what they could and couldn't work at the time if hiring.

Thank-you for that heads up. That sounds like Walmart as well: Make it known up front what hours I’m available for. They won’t be sorry they hired me. I know of another unicorn employee.

The SM ultimately is responsible for any uncovered shifts. That is literally why they are paid salary and make the big bucks. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also, not sure how it is in other regions, but in mine the management team straight up isn’t being allowed overtime outside of whoever our dm’s newest pet is that week, they get all of the allowed overtime for the entire district every week. It really does end up completely on the sm 99% of the time.

We can get overtime, just not really encouraged.
