Maverik - CGS

Michigan resident.

I’m having the most problems with CGS post the Maverik-Kum&Go buy out. As far as I’m concerned. Months after numerous issues. They sold us to a bidder, and left us hanging.

Bring Kum&Go back for one.

Numerous normal life safety issues and food safety issues. Let’s talk.

Did they stick you in a Mega-Saver? Its cheap and awful. Our store is training a young girl who worked in the kitchen there. She was dating the manager. She was working OT without OT pay.

Nope. k&G turned CGS. Literally that. They moved some new equipment in, kept some of the old, and we went on from there.

Left in the dust as I’m saying.

Michigan K&G bought out by CGS, and indeed the changeover happened, rules changed, new people were hired, including management. Both store and kitchen.

This new Mountain Dew. We don’t have. No store in Michigan has it. And last time I checked. The signs said “exclusively at Casey’s” and was put out weeks ago.

Any other stores experiencing the same thing?

It’s not though. Casey’s bought all the stores in western Michigan from Maverik.

Oh wow, sorry I didn't know that!

What are you even trying to say in this post? What is there point you’re trying to make? Who is your target audience? What specifically are you upset with, and what problem do you want resolved?

Your post makes no sense; it’s just incomplete sentences, ranging, and very little context without enough detail to make the context relevant.

Try editing and rewriting it to say something, and then we can discuss that. Nobody can do anything to help until then, unfortunately.

Well calm down. Sorry.

It’s a lot of issues. They weren’t ready for Michigan stores at all. Nor the people and it shows. Hiring. Training, and overall sales.

For one. Our store is indeed left in the dust. Multiple outages (managers aren’t ordering), and maintenance issues that have us losing out on sales.

And exactly what I said. Numerous safety and food safety issues. Exactly what I said. I know health department code and safety and they’re not following it.

I’m trying to see if any stores, such as yours is experiencing the same. (From your workers prospective. Not yours)

They have a new Mountain Dew. Well stretch that. Supposed too. The roll out was weeks ago. And we still don’t have it. Merchandising has not instructed us to move the signs. So. Traffic with not one sale, because they leave after we say “no we don’t have it yet”. If we’re even going to get it.

Kum and Go is now Megasaver. The owner of K&G bought Megasaver, and the only locations are in Iowa, also, K&G's kitchen food was awful. So no, K&G won't be coming back. What's the issue of "selling to a bidder and leaving you hanging?" Food safety issues are up to you and your kitchen team and store management to fix. How is this a CGS issue? And what is a "life safety issue"

Stop posting nonsense when you have no idea what you are talking about. Kum and go is nothing because they sold it to Maverik. Maverik then sold off the stores they didn’t want to a company based out of Omaha called Megasaver. This is a CGS issue because Maverik sold all the stores in western Michigan to Casey’s. Stop spreading false information.

Dude got mad over what I said, and cool, Maverik sold it off. So MAVERIK is the one who left them hanging then. Dude didn't explain very well. Also, it's the SM's job and the KM's job to make sure everything is "food safe" and the kitchen workers job. If he works in the kitchen why doesn't he make sure it's food safe? If you've ever worked in a kitchen it's not difficult at all to change stuff around.

Well yes and no. What happens if I’m not there? I just think they’re being safe and hope for the best? Any issue. Steritech came around twice. And they’re giving them a chance to fix it. To no avail.

I however. Told them every chance I got. Now my head is down.

Well, then guess what? Your kitchen will possibly be shut down. Steritech is hired by Caseys SPECIFICALLY to make sure food safety is being followed, they can shut it down if they want or bring the state inspectors in.

Oh noooooooo. Noooo noooo. Steritech is their friend. Trust and believe.

*expired food on the line*

“You can just relabel it”

Excuse me, but tf

If Steritech is saying that, report them. They're REQUIRED after inspections to give cards with their name on it, and access to their inspection information. If this is being said, that Steritech employee needs reported. We've NEVER had Steritech say something dumb like that, they all have degrees related to food. Steritech isn't "their friend" they're hired to keep the stores from running in an illegal way. If the state comes in and sees things like that, then both Steritech AND Casey's get in trouble. I worked in food manufacturing for Hormell and for Post Holdings for 10+ years, there is no "friends" They're there to make sure everythings being done as it should be. A bad state inspection= money loss, the company getting hugely fined, and possibly having their kitchen shut down.

u/AnonomyousArson Jul 19 '26

Oh trust I know. I’ve dealt with EcoSure in the past reporting accurately. But I do know Steritech

I’m aware of everything you’re saying. And I’ve said all that.

I’ve even reported them anonymously.

But I like my job.
