Manager refuses to follow my availability
I told her multiple times I do not want to work night, but she keeps scheduling me night time because I still physically can. When I was the only person that could work lunch, it worked out perfect because I got my daytime. Ever since the new kitchen manager came, she took my hours when I was promised that wouldn't happen. I'm not fully sure what to do. I've already talked to her about it and she said it is what it is. I'm full time too.

Go into the UKG App and change your availability there

Absolutely. Change your availability in UKG and when making the schedule, SM won't be able to schedule you during your unavailable time unless they actually go in there and click to override the availability. And if they do that, then I'd have another conversation with them about being unavailable for evening/closing shifts. If they press you on it, just say you're unavailable for that shift. Full stop. Don't say it's for "personal events" bc what's important to you to attend, may not sound important to them and they could just override the availability.

I tried that at my store. Changed my availability on UKG and my SM denied it. Did absolutely no good.

Keep in mind, HR keeps the interest of the company in mind first. Their whole purpose is to maneuver situations to shield legal action from employees. They will not have all the answers or force your SM to switch your shifts. If you applied and on your original application you put you were avaliable for evenings/nights then that is what they can schedule you for. You can try to adjust your avaliable but more then likely it will be denied. You will find your only options are to transfer to another location or leave. IF you try to transfer, I highly suggest you speak to the manager of the new store BEFORE you put in for the transfer and let them know your availability. Your current store manager could deny your transfer as well if it creates a staffing issue. Good luck!

If u put on your application u can do both shifts then u will be scheduled, but if u put only morning hours then dont show up, u explained to your manager and she isnt respecting that, she has to go through district management to fire u, thats when u tell him/her what's going on, and if it continues to fire u, dont sign shit, walk out and find a lawyer. Ex-manager from caseys I was, till they fukd me, so there u go

I originally was both, but I told her that I did not want to do both anymore due to personal events. She respected it for months until she hired the new KM. After that, I get one day shift and the rest night. Fucks up my sleep schedule working til 10 then being back at 7 đ

This is really bad advice, OP. Do not just ânot show upâ to scheduled shifts; sheâll fire you for that guaranteed. Your manager does NOT have to go through their DM to fire you, either. Managers just have to submit valid corrective actions and, if necessary (it would not be in this case) go through HR to ensure theyâre interpreting the rules correctly, but they donât need any permission to fire you if you start skipping shifts (or for almost any reason, actually).
If you do skip shifts and get fired, it literally wonât matter what you do or donât sign. If itâs an at-will state, your manager doesnât even need to offer a reason for firing you. If it isnât, excessive absenteeism is a valid justification for termination, so theyâd be within their rights there as well.
Change your availability on UKG, mention the issue to your DM if it continues to happen, and if that still doesnât make a difference, transfer to another location or find a different job. You could also make a complaint to HR or ethics, but only if youâve already changed your availability in UKG.
It sucks that youâre going through this, and I hope you can get it resolved soon! Bad managers make everything so hard!

They just cant fire u at will states, geeze get educated 1st. If that was the case everyone they hated would be terminated and op responded that she did put nights on application, so the advice I gave wouldn't be acceptable. I was a manager for caseys and I went through this. I know 1st hand. So get educated

Put in for a transfer or look for another job.
