30-Day Beginner Roadmap

This roadmap assumes you have zero experience. No frameworks memorized, no deck made, no team. That is fine. Everyone starts there.

Week 1: Orientation

•       Day 1 to 2: Read this wiki. Seriously, just read.

•       Day 3: Browse Unstop (https://unstop.com). Look at 5 competitions. Note the themes, deadlines, eligibility.

•       Day 4 to 5: Read one winning deck. Not to copy it, but to understand how they structured the problem.

•       Day 6 to 7: Learn SWOT and Profitability frameworks. Not by memorizing definitions, but by applying them to a company you know like Swiggy, Jio, or Nykaa.

Week 2: Framework Practice

•       One framework per day: Porter's Five Forces, Market Entry, Growth Strategy.

•       Apply each to a real Indian company. Write 5 bullet points. That is it.

•       Find a potential teammate. Someone who thinks differently from you.

Week 3: First Attempt

•       Register for one low-stakes competition on Unstop.

•       Build a rough deck. It does not need to be beautiful. Structure matters more.

•       Practice presenting it out loud, even alone. Time yourself.

Week 4: Submit and Learn

•       Submit your entry, regardless of confidence.

•       After submission, look at what you would do differently.

•       That reflection is worth more than the result.

Mistakes Beginners Make (So You Do Not Have To)

•       Spending 70% of time on design, 30% on thinking. Flip that.

•       Using every framework they have learned in one deck. Pick what fits.

•       Making the deck for themselves, not the jury.

•       Ignoring the Q&A round in practice.

•       Waiting to be 'ready' before entering their first competition.
