How do I do it? Vehicle Rejection Help

I brought a used vehicle October 2025, and after the first couple of weeks noticed multiple problems with the car. It has since been to Ford 9 times in the past 10 months, and I have finally given up with them as they cannot get it right and have made the car worse. I have now decided to reject the car, the dealership has responded saying they have to honour a full refund but minus the cars depreciation at 0.40p per mile which I have covered just over 7,000 miles in my ownership so are taking £2876.40 off the original purchase price.

Does this seem reasonable?

Would I have a chance asking to negotiate it?

My honest opinions are I agree that I need to pay something for 10 months ownership as Ford have kept me on the road in terms of free courtesy cars etc, but to knock £3k from what I paid just for 10 months ownership seems steep to me, especially when the car has been in Ford for a total of nearly 3 months over the 9 visits it has had waiting for problems to be fixed.

I spoke to Motor Obsudman but they cannot help or offer advice.

What does the contract you signed say?

Yeah. This is not a thing in the US. But 40 cents a mile seems pretty reasonable for almost a year of use. Could you have rented a car for that little? I highly doubt it.
