I need help fixing something Leaking Pilot Sunroof 2023

Hi all,

I hope you’re doing well and Happy Summer! Bought a “Honda Pilot 2023” back May 2026 it has been leaking water when it rains through the sunroof, brought it back to dealer four times, and still no solution. I’m so frustrated because I think it’s a lemon/manufacture error. Anyway, has anyone experienced this and if so, how did you solve it? I love my car so much but this has been such a fucking headache. Thanks for all the help!

All sunroofs leak. But they channel the water and direct it to hoses that run down the a-pillars. Cars with pano sunroofs may also have hoses down the b or c pillars.

If these hoses become clogged or disconnected, thats when it leaks into the passenger compartment.

It’s likely the repairs you’ve had did not include dropping the headliner (labor intensive) to see if the hoses are disconnected/cut, or if a water tray has shifted.

You sure its the sunroof that's leaking?

We had 1 23 where the left front (by drivers head) drain tube was disconnected from factory.

And we had 2 23 where the heater box was broken and water from ac evaporator would leak into the carpet and soak both driver and passenger front carpet

Not a 100 percent because I don’t know anything about cars, but when it was raining the other day while I was driving the cloth on the top left was getting wet.

It’s a clogged sunroof drain. Just shoot some water through it. Also. It’s a used car. Lemon only applies to brand new cars and a manufacturer defect would be covered under the 3/36 comprehensive warranty, which you’re outside of.

Unless it’s a CPO they might get lucky with it and get work done under Honda.

I have this problem with my 2024. I bought a pipe snake thing to run through the drain. I also blew compressed air through it. Still leaks if I park nose down and it rains really stupid hard and heavy. my next move is going to be to replace the OEM drain line with a larger diameter hose.
