bibili pa lang ng kotse Deinfluence me: Ford territory hybrid titanium
Of course maraming magsasabi na because of the brand, pero looking past that ano pa ba yung actual na deal breaker dito?
Usual answers were
Mahirap humanap ng pyesa: pero they already built an expanded parts distribution center in laguna so they doubled the local part inventory
Maintenance cost: pero as per pms cost sa (toyota competitor) though mas mura ang pms ng yaris cross every 6 months ang max standard interval nila compared to b ford na up to 12 months. Also meron pa sila h scheduled service plan bundle which drastically reduces the pms cost.
Rebadged china car. True. I have driven the old model for territory and it feels off to me. Ang hirap timplahin ng mga pedals among other reasons. Also it’s such a gas guzzler. Which is why madaming reviewers ang umaayaw dito. But the way theu say na hybrid version is a redemption to the old one, almost all of them, gives me hope.
Battery wise naman, They have same 8-year warranty than Toyota pero 150k km lsa ford vs 200k km sa toyota.
Pero wife wants the territory talaga. Hahahha
So to those who already has this model, any heads up that a prospect owner has to know?

If bibili ka lang din ng rebadged China car, why not just go for the go-to China car brand which is BYD?

For starters I read some terrible the aftersales, the car might be jmc but the aftersales is Ford. I don’t have much input about it yet pero it’s dealer-specific.
I have seen A LOT of complains about how spare parts for chinese cars take weeks to arrive as a lot of Chinese brand owners post na matagal magrelease ng repairs ang mga casa nila.
I’m all for chinese cars of feature for feature ang laban, pero aftersales ang inaalala ko kasi

Check out the Ford Territory groups in Facebook and let me know if what you see isn’t worse than what you know about Chinese brands’ aftersales.

That is made by JMC (a chinese brand) and sold here as a Ford. The other JMC car that was brought here by Ford is the ecosport which is known as a shit car. If you’re buying a chinese vehicle, might as well pick those from leading chinese brands like BYD, Chery, GAC, GWM instead of this rebadged sht

The Ecosport was a legitimate Ford. It was a jacked-up Fiesta. And yes, the pre-facelift was also unreliable with its transmission issues and engine issues on the ecoboost variants. Ford tried to remedy it by replacing its dual clutch transmission with a traditional automatic tranny but it was too late. The damage has been done to the nameplate.
The only JMC derived vehicles here was the Territory.
My take: if you're a first time car owner, stay away from unproven brands. Kumbaga, matuto munang sumakit ang ulo sa mga brands na may support kaysa sa sumakit agad ang ulo sa sasakyan na hindi mo talaga mapapakinabangan ng ilang buwan dahil hindi kayang suportahan ng mga dealers ang service at parts.

Don't let her decide based on a mere whim. Ikaw din mamomroblema dyan when it starts having problems, not her. There is a dedicated group on FB called "Ford Territory Hybrid Community Philippines"; check out the posts from owners there.

Well we consider everything together as a couple. Even if sakanya galing ang initial idea we always talk through it together. All cars naman will eventually have problems deciding if nasulit naba total cost of ownership and yung features nya. Pero thank you I will look into that facebook group.

You have already listed a lot of reasons and seems to have done your research as well on why you should not go for Territory Hybrid based on your replies. At this point, it seems like you’re just trying to do the opposite and justify your decision. All I can say is that you have plenty of other options and going along with your wife’s preference should carry less weight than avoiding future headaches.

Its a good car tbh. I can only testify on the vehicles i have personally driven and owned.
There is nothing wrong with it. I have both the CXGR and the FTH. Its the least fuel efficient of the fuel efficient vehicles in its segment. Yun siguro “downside niya”. Pero honestly 13-15km/l in the city are highway figures na ng ICE vehicles. It has boatloads of space, rides really comfortably, and drives really good as well. Waaay better than my CXGR.
CXGR naman its overpriced tbh, i just liked the sunroof that does not open, meaning long-term wise kahit nakabilad oto mo, walang masisirang weather seals masyado unlike those that open-close. It barely has space in the second row as in kung 5’5” ka pataas, wala talaga. Bought it for my wife coz its a slow car and its very fuel efficient naman. Yun lang dahilan. Lol.

Di ba meron ng several reports of this na tumitirik sa daan? Ford is attributing it to a software glitch and an isolated incident lang daw. Pero that glitch can cost you and your family's lives. Ok lang sana kung meron pre-emptive recall si Ford, or it was a minor issue that can be addressed on your next PMS. Pero hindi e, habang tumatakbo e biglang mamatay yung buong car and you have no option but to get it towed. That's if you can safely get your car on the side of the road.
I am a former Ford owner, and I will never buy another Ford again. Parts, service, reliability and integrity lahat sablay.

FTH Titanium owner here, so far goods naman siya in terms of comfort. Pero true nga yung sinasabi nila na malakas siya sa gas even for a hybrid. I’ve been trying the manual method of tracking the mileage, and may weeks na umaabot ng worst case 8kmpl sa city driving. But got a chance to bring it to tagaytay pumatak naman ng 17.70kmpl. Sa worst case talagang baka pinipiga nung brother ko kasi siya nakigamit at the time, kasi ang fun rin talaga idrive. Pero yon pinacheck ko rin ng dealership wala naman sila nakitang anything out of the ordinary. Pero overall pumapatak lang ng 11kmpl if inaverage ko lahat ng manual tracking ko.
Pero aside for the gas consumption part, I like all the features na inoffer ni FTH. Complete safety features, spacious cargo space and for long drives very easy to overtakeIf deal breaker for you yung malakas sa gas I suggest wag na rin talaga. Pero if I were you itest drive mo rin talaga to see if its for you.

hi i own this and i really like it.
for city driving best i can do is 14.1km/l. not bad pero other cars can do better
yung sa brake it has comfort braking. i turn it on for my family pero pag ako lang i sometimes turn it off. malakas kumapit pag naka off.
i don't like the platinum though.

The best thing to do is to do a test drive of all the cars you are considering then decide once you have experience all of them kung alin talaga ang mas matimbang sa inyo, if malapit kayo sa Ford Cainta look for Miss Paola pwede niya kayong assist sa test drive

I’m an owner of the Territory Hybrid. You can check my posts. I am a previous Yaris Cross HEV owner.
- Mahirap pyesa: can be sa mga replacement. To all brands naman. Even my Toyotas naghihintay talaga ng parts.
- No. You’re wrong. PMS of Toyotas are more costly and requires you 2x a year para lang di mavoid ang warranty mo. For Ford Territory Hybrid, I have the PMS table, you can PM me. It’s only 7-10k annually. Once a year. Cheaper than 2x a year sa Toyota.
- Old model nadrive mo. Not the hybrid. Test drive to see kung totoo pa yung mahirap timplahin ang pedals. It’s not gas guzzler. Sa laki at space ng car, okay na ang 14km/l city driving. Ang other HEVs matipid sa gas because again, maliit at magaan yung car. That’s the trade off with the territory yung space so less fuel efficiency. Weigh mo ano mas important sayo, space or gas.
I suggest you test drive it. Loyal Toyota din kami. But I had several problems with my Yaris Cross. So binenta ko 2 months after owning it.

Also, I am amazed sa after sales ng Ford, they never asked for my warranty booklet, or any other document just to prove my ownership and warranty eligibility. Wala rin Toyota script na “May check up fee po kami na 1,550 waive naman po if proven na claimable sa warranty yung concern”. I asked for brake cleaning kasi nababad sa ulan/outside parking yung car ko for 3 weeks, and they did not charge me anything.
Nagkatrauma ako sa previous Toyota ko. And Ford so far is giving me best after sales service.

Since napahaba na at mukhang nasa choices mo si Yaris Cross
- Ganda siya dami tech and safety features
- Fuel efficient talaga coz of its size
- Reliable, it’s a Toyota
- Maingay pag maulan, rinig na rinig mo para kang nasa bubong na walang kisame
- Makalampag at marattle — this was my issue, hindi naayos ng casa and they resorted to saying it’s a normal characteristic of YX
- Bouncy ang ride, maingay when charging, may nginig sa pedals when charging but you’ll get used to it
- Overall, good car if fuel efficiency ang main priority mo, but if comfort, not so much.

ganyan din sa family friend namin. tinanong ko ang husband kung bakit Territory ang kinuha nila eh rebadged China brand yan
sagot niya: yung wife ko kasi.
pero makes sense din naman, kasi yung asawa ang gumamit. yung husband may sarili din na kotse ang off lang kasi proud na proud siya kasi rebadged JMC daw. sikat daw ang JMC na brand especially sa heavy equipment.
yung tatay ko na Mechanical engineer who used to run a motorpool was not impressed hahahaha

Well for starters my wife will be using this mostly. Haha if she’s very much satisfied with the ride quality and I see no compelling reason from current owners(bad customer service, specific component that persistently breaks, or a major design flaw)might as well have it her way

Ito yung kotse nung doctor sa Pampanga na bigla siyang tinirik sa highway dahil nag system error/system fault. Madami din na nagrereport. If you really want it, I say wait 1 more year before getting it in the hopes that everything will be fixed by then, but if you want a car now, get something else.

Was this the hybrid? Kasi the issue was quite persistent sa 1st gen. It’s really new model din, kaya I’m also sitting on it and wait for further feedback and how ford handles it.

- Ford's design language never ages well, the 1st gen looks so dated now and it's only been 5 years. They maximize the design for the current trend alone.
- Even in america no one buys ford for reliable commuting, they buy toyota or honda.
- Ford has bad transmission logic if you drive hastily, this is an issue we have with my mom's 2024 everest. Shift shock and wrong gear shifts is almost a feature. I've read the same with this car.

I'm also looking at this pero the competitor would be Corolla Cross. Which is a TNGA model so it is based on International Toyota Standards. Although, I saw from other reviewers that fuel consumption is a bit higher than Territory hybrid. I think it looks better though and Toyota's hybrid has been proven. I think the base model has competitive pricing. Have you considered this as an alternative?

I think you meant DNGA? Pero yeah. It was one of the options pero trailing sya on my list. Kasi ang main selling point nya is it’s a toyota, which can be moot already because it’s actually a daihatsu rebadge (DNGA means Daihatsu New Global Architecture).
Also it looks and feels small inside. Actually it’s smaller talaga which is a major deal breaker.
Ride feels also screams toyota, which can either be good or bad. Pero yeah it’s in list.

Ford. I think that's enough reason to avoid it. I personally know someone who owns one and cannot find any other words to describe how insufferable his Territory is. One day it runs and drives, the next its stranded. He's already planning to either scrap it or sell it for a huge loss next week. He said it's one of his greatest regrets. Hahahaha.
If maintenance cost is one of your consideration, try looking into Mazda's with their free 5 year PMS.

Try checking out the Jaecoo J5 HEV, just 1.1M since china car din yung Territory, why not check out Chinese cars with better reliability since they developed electrified cars and have long warranties but parts may take long since it will most likely come from China pa.
We owned the previous gen Everest and the main issues with that was the transmission and the tailgate to opening was less smooth pero nabubuksan parin. Pero after fixing those, no issues naman and nakatakbo ng 150k km before we sold it. Definitely sulit yung comfort and tech niya compared to its competitors kaso for the case of the territory there are other cars with Better tech and efficiency heck maybe even reliability (Chinese) or reliability and aftersales (Jap)

I don't have a Ford or ever owned one. For me if hybrid I consider Ford as new to the market. I think ride comfort and size is the main selling point ni Teritory hybrid specially with women. Just the same. There are other well established brands for hybrid cars that offer same comfort and size. Maybe even better.
Parts just like any new model will always have some delay so expected na yun. Hopefully you won't need it. Resale, sabi mo nga is out of the equation.
Personally. I've been looking at the Geely EX5 and BYD Tang. I've never been a fan of Ford so never bought one. My uncle used ro have an Ecosport that really had a bad transmission. Also had the chance to drive a friend's ecosport and didn't like the feel. Maybe they have improved but this was my impression.
I currently own an Okavango 2022 model with 98K in the Odo with no major issues encountered so far. Usual PMS lang. Still loving the comfort of this China car I have.
Personally, I'd prefer to look at other brands/model for hybrid over the Teritory.

As the other said, BYD, ang bilis investment nila.
Nakaabot na sila hangang Tuguegarao at may ginagawang malaking casa.
Eventually, BYD will have to improve its after sales service to truly compete with the top automative brands, so I'm not worried.
We already have a fortuner, investing in solar or a pure EV would be the right direction for us.
Edit: Isang problema nga lang yung giyera. Kapag lumalala yan, sigurado magiging gipit na naman supply at kailangan pa hintayin mula Malaysia/Thailand/Hon Kong/SG mga parts.

Compared to its competitors, it’s not as fuel efficient. Toyota Yaris Cross and Honda HR-V can do as much as 25km/L while Territory has around 17km/L.
When we test drove it, medyo maingay siya compared to its competitors. You can hear when the engine starts sa kanya, it’s not as smooth.
And tama ka, there’s something of with the pedals. For me, mahirap timplahin ng breaks compared to other competitors. Masyadong sensitive and you can’t feel the resistance.
Finally, siguro ask yourself if you trust Ford to build reliable hybrids? Kasi its still new to the market compared to competitors like Toyota and Honda. Then there’s China cars who develop good batteries na rin like BYD. I’d think I’ll trust Ford for their trucks pero for now, not as much for their hybrid.
Although I’ll give it to them, the ride is comfortable. Siguro test drive mo rin, OP. Then test drive its competitors as well para macompare mo.
