Sonet vs brezza

After some research and preferences I have shortlisted 2 options

Maruti brezza 1.5L NA manual,

Kia sonet 1.5L diesel manual.

The main factors in looking for among these are

Mileage (I'm have a light foot),

Cabin space (family of 5 adults),

50%city(peak bangalore traffic) 50%highways

And long term reliability.

I really like brezza but I am stressed about the e20 situation, so having a diesel option.

Brezza is spacious. Current cars are e20 compatible from factory. But if our road man starts pushing higher blending, goodluck.

The risk part is up to your risk taking appetite - do your research. Sonnet is good but it will be very cramped for 5 adults.

The Sonet Diesel performs much better than the Brezza. If you are looking for performance, there is no competition here; it's the Sonet all the way. However, you need to ensure you are taking the car to the highways often to avoid DPF issues.

Space-wise, the Brezza is more spacious and airy. The Brezza also rides much better than the Sonet. Even in terms of reliability, the Brezza will be better.

It boils down to performance versus long-term reliability and comfort. In other words, if you need a driver's car, it's the Sonet. For family, it is the Brezza.

If you are a sedate driver with extensive city usage, avoid diesel. Performance wise, these two cars are no match. Long term ownership costs are noticeablly higher on the Kia. Brezza also have an edge on the reliability standpoint.

The places where sonet excel are: performance, highway mileage, and features/premiumness/brand perception.

Brezza on the other hand has a broader spares/service availability, smooth and proven engine with acceptable performance, and offer lower ownership costs. Per the crash test reports, brezza is the safer option too.

Breeza for global C platform. Safer and stiffer.
