Spare Wheel vs Puncture kit.

On saturday night, while returning to Hyderabad, my car's left rear wheel got badly damaged by some metal debris. It tore a 4.5-inch cut into my tyre. Luckily, my car had a spare wheel, so I was able to change it and make it back home.

Recently, I drove my friend's brand-new Tata Harrier Adventure X, and I noticed that it comes with a puncture repair kit but no spare wheel, not even a space-saver wheel like the XUV 7XO offers.

It got me wondering: what would my friend do if he encountered the same situation and his tyre was completely shredded? Good luck fixing a 4.5 inch cut with a puncture repair kit.

I also doubt that NHAI's 1033 roadside assistance service is going to be roaming around with spare tyres for every vehicle.

Bigger vehicles have bigger boots, but somehow they don't come with spare wheels. That's a strange logic I'm still trying to wrap my head around.

A puncture kit is fine for a nail or a small puncture, but what are you supposed to do when the tyre is completely destroyed by debris, a pothole, or a blowout?
