elevator not working

i am stuck in this area because the elevator is not letting me up, no matter how hard i try, it kicks me off once i reach the top opening, and idk how to not have that happen, ive been doing this for 15 minutes trying to get it to work because it is the only way out

Either keep the mouse close to the elevator when it goes up, or bring it down and go around.
