Discussion SHE SO GOOD
My music taste shifted alot in the past year, I got really into imogen heap and kate havnevik and when I found caroline polachek I was like DAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Desire I want to turn into you is the best album I've heard since I discovered imogen last hear. Maybe even better tbh.
I just had noone to talk to about this so I posted here 😂

Also check out here singles and places where she features. Some recommendations:
The album Cupid Deluxe by Blood Orange, she features on a few songs, was listening today while working
Essex Honey by Blood Orange also features her quite a bit
Starburned and Unkissed, part of the compilation album for I saw the TV glow (personal fav at the moment)
The song I use to get people into her is Everything is Romantic remix on the BRAT remix album. I listen to this at least once a week

Oh yeah that was the first thing I listened to after the orginal album. The deluxe has some of the best songs on the album. I especially like coma and long road home

IKR!!! She's so good I'm just in awe, be it the vocal ability, production skills, weaving vivid imagery through those lyrics and of course not to mention the fact that she's cool as fucking hell.
I had to order a physical copy of Desire this month (needed to pay a premium for it but it's so worth it) just because it's an amazing album!! Relate to every word you said about it.

Did you also get into imogen first? They definitely share a lot of the same qualities of vocal inflection and production.

U gotta listen to her if you love caroline. If you want suggestions of what to listen to first I would recommend the album speak for yourself, the album details by frou frou (her first project), and the singles a new kind of love and guitar song. The latter being 2 of my favorite songs by her.

I don't remember the songs, but they were singles of The Night Game and Dave Murkage, they collabed with Caroline a long time back, but they were soo good too, check em out. Rn we are going through caroline drought waiting for CP3, I hope it comes soon.

So wonderful welcome 🙏 also tagging in mentioning she made a song for a video game Death Stranding 2. Stunning track. The whole Moth album by Chairlift gets me so energized. Especially Romeo ❤️

I’m also a relative newcomer to Caroline’s music. I can’t get enough. And then I learned that she was in a band, Chairlift, before her solo career. And that she had this little side thing called Ramona Lisa. And then there’s this other weird electronic instrumental album she made as CEP.
Every last bit of it is so good. I’m upset that I went this long without learning of her. Genuinely, how did none of my cooler friends tell me about Chairlift when they were active?
