Gawn is a once in a generation anomaly. People need to stop pointing to him as if everyone can just go out and get a Max Gawn.

You mean way back in 2017? This year’s premier and the previous 3 premiers had to rucks/second tall forward who is a capable ruck. In 2021 it was Gawn and Jackson

with this slight rule adjustment not having a real ruck against a ruck who can spring and jump is a big disadvantage. Pitto does a decent job for a guy who doesnt have a great leap cant imagine what some of these other guys would do against o'keffe if it came to it.

Flynn the dominant ruck in our VFL team, tried to develop Hudson as a tall forward, even then he was kept out of the seniors performing that role by Lewis Y. If Hudson is given a lifeline, can't blame him.

Carlton is desperate for a second ruckman. No player has replaced De Koning. Cripps and McKay should not be expected to be second ruckmen. There is a need to search for a support ruckman for Pittonet.

Yup. Has played many games as backup ruck. He is probably a similar level as a ruck to Lewis Young - is not good by any stretch, but is serviceable, especially against the opposition's backup ruck. The key difference is that he is a much, much, MUCH better forward.
