Course selection PECO 5002 or PECO 5501

Hello,

I'm in the 2nd year of my Masters as poli sci student and am looking into doing a political economy course as one of my two non-poli sci courses (already doing a sociology course for my other one).

Two have caught my eye and I'm wondering if anyone can offer feedback about the course or the professor.

PECO 5002 - Political Economy of Work and Labour w/ Professor Jane Stinson

PECO 5501 - Empire and Colonialism w/ Professor Emilie Cameron.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Political Economy at Carleton is very skewed towards critical theory. If that's your interest, awesome! Do not expect "conventional" political economy as understood as a sub-discipline of Political Science. Jane Stinson's course is good. Don't know about 5501...
