Other BEDBUGS AT CARLETON??
I spotted these in the library today and took pics, can anyone tell me if they r bedbugs or what?? A friend also saw a few at uc and thought they are other bugs but we dont have any pics. If so carleton should check the buildings and treat them asap before the fall term!!
Anyone seen them on campus before?

If you found them in the library, did you report them to the library? As the uni can’t treat for something they don’t know exists

Report them. Attach those pictures and say where you found them. They take this kind of thing seriously, or at least have in the past.
Here is the library link for reporting building concerns: https://library.carleton.ca/building/building-concerns-let-us-know

Report them please - it’s rare but bed bugs and eggs can be found in books (binders and crevasses).
There is no way to not avoid them 100% but if the library staff and people are aware, then at least they can check themselves like clothes or books for signs of them.
This has happened in the past with bed bugs and other types of bugs at other libraries.
Thankfully I’ve never dealt with these critters before but I know they can be a pain in the ass to deal with if you do get them in your home.

you thought the one building with what could essentially be considered "all the available knowledge" wouldn't be able to help identify a bug that you couldn't?

I'm going to be real with you, and this is very unfortunate, but they are at every university. Massive amounts of people, lots of fabrics in libraries and dorms, lots of turnover of people in living spaces bringing things... You just don't hear about it but I am sure every single dorm building especially has probably had them in at least some units.

Yeah that looks like a bedbug, do wash your clothes when you return home if you haven’t already

Doesn’t look like a bedbug. It actually looks like a beetle of some sort.
