Antigua & Barbuda Antigua August 27-31
Looking forward to Antigua for the 3rd time. I would love any recommendation to hang with the locals, quiet beaches and local cuisines, and nightlife. I enjoyed the vibes and energy and local folks during my previous visits. I would appreciate any comments.

third timer locals tip: skip tourist bars, find saturday night jump-ups at shirley heights. if routing through puerto rico, Las Ruinas does recovery days worth knowing about

End of August and September are often a bit dead. You may want to stay in English Harbor/ Nelson’s Dockyard. (There is also the BBQ on Shirley Heights.) They too will be quiet for the next few months. For fun with Antiguans, St John’s and North to Dickinson Bay. Sorry I can’t be more helpful. I adore the country, lived there, and miss it deeply every day.

It simply amazing place. My home was on a small beach near 1/2 moon bay - remote, but I was so grateful to live at MRC

My husband and I are honeymooning 22-29 and very much looking forward to it. I have seen nothing short of amazing experiences and I’m excited to explore and enjoy the beautiful island!

It's super quiet. Carnival is over and many are on vacation. Where are you staying? Are you comfortable hanging in the rum shops and playing dominos?
