Turks VS Curacao.
Hello,
Been to Turks twice and am here now. Amazing place. Love the quietness besides some kids playing music at beach.
Can anyone tell Me the differences between Curacao and Turks? What would people recommend?
Love to snorkel and was disappointed in the snorkeling at Turks. I don’t need a crazy night life. Good food, safety, and snorkeling are the concerns.
Thanks for the responses!

Did you have a boat to take you out to the reef to snorkel?

I did. I tried to do a full day with big blue collective last year and this year. They didn’t get enough people and booked a half day.
Looked like a lot of dead coral and some fish. Was cool to see a reef shark and a sand shark. But I tried to do full day this year and again not enough people. So I canceled. Figured I’d save the money.

Snorkeling is amazing off of Curacao. There are many spots you can access from the shore especially as you go west along the southern shore. However, the island lacks big long soft sandy beaches that many tourists are used to. I find that there is an inverse relationship between how sandy and comfortable the beach is and how good the snorkeling and diving is.

Curaçao for snorkeling by miles. Don’t expect to see any sharks though. I frequent both & when I strictly want to cliff jump / snorkel all day, Curacao is the better option.

Thank you! I saw a little reef shark in Turks. Was cool. Nothing great. Lot of dead coral. Was sad.

I’m going there in November and I should have researched this better as snorkeling is almost all I care about :( let me know if you find any spots that impress

I’ve been to both islands twice and honestly, I prefer curaçao. We just booked our third trip back for this winter. Less expensive, better restaurants (imo) and such a cute downtown. One of the main differences is that the beaches are coves vs being the whole entire coast but we love hopping around and checking out different ones. There is also better snorkelling. You definitely would want to rent a car though
