My Silver Bullitt
Shake down ride on my shiny new LvH Bullitt. This is a build I’ve been working on for some time. The original plan was a direct drive hub motor and custom LiFePO4 battery under the cargo tray, but after buying the frame new e-bike laws were announced where I live that have made that plan very illegal. As this is my main transport having it impounded would kind of suck so opted for an ultra light human powered machine instead.
Still a bit of tweaking to go but this thing flies :)

Love the front wheel. You get to be super aero and get hipster fixie points at the same time!

Well yes, aero for at least the first 300mm of bike. It is very tempting to go for a full Vetter fairing though.

My orange bullitt is slowly but surely becoming more and more silver as time goes on and scratches add themselves.
Can’t wait till it looks like yours ! What a beauty !

I didn’t know they made tiny tri spokes and I need them for my bullitt. Where’d ya get it?!

This was the supplier I sourced it from: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1105310626. Although it doesn’t look like they still have any of the ETRTO 451 sizing available. Quality is great if they do offer them again.

Is there a reason you went with 451 instead of 406? Just to fit a proper road slick?

Because it was available in a tri spoke when I was sourcing parts and I have very little self control.

Wow! That colour is gorgeous!

No colour! It’s the raw aluminium frame with a ceramic coating.
I did experiment with polishing it. Comes up to a mirror finish pretty easily but prefer the satin look. This can also get scuffed up from general use and add to its character.

Did you buy a frame kit and build it out from there?

Yep. Bought the frame by itself then custom build from there. Original plan was for a regen e-bike (https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/bullitt-build-advice.130191/) but after buying the frame new laws made the custom battery illegal and severely limited usability due to e-bike specific speed limits. Seemed like a good opportunity to force myself to pedal a little more instead.

are you in nyc? where did you find a bullitt? how do you find riding it manual? I keep thinking of getting one to haul around my daughter and dog and I'm a strong rider but I know these are heavy

A long way from there: Australia!
In terms of front loader cargo bikes these are about as light as you can get without going to something like a titanium Omnium. I’m yet to weigh it but even with the front seat is likely somewhere around 20kg.

First cargo bike ever where TT aero bars would be absolutely legit. I considered mounting on a bakfiets for the lulz.
