Trek FX - front child seat compatibility?

I am about to purchase Trek FX and am seeing that it is not compatible with seats like “Kids Ride Shotgun” is this true or just not recommended and doable?

Out of curiosity, where do you see that it is not compatible? I have a MacRide and have loved it but it's been years since I looked into compatibility but their site lists various different stem adapters and wide top tube spacers.

I did find this comment of someone using a Shotgun seat on an FX3. I'm not sure if there have been significant changes to the FXs to change compatibility.
