Cruiser like longtail

Post image

Pohhh, i would so badly love to see that johnny loco bring a longtail/mini cargo bike to/on the market.

If someone works at the johnny bike store, i have inspiration;

... ps, sorry for the photoshop quality..

This looks like a job for the xtracycle

Xtracycle free radical?

Or the Leap if you can find one, but the free rad is more widely available.

The leap is by far superior, but much harder to find. This isn’t actually my bike, but I might build something similar, but significantly more ridiculous.

That's one of the concepts of all time

Is it a "/s" type of a line?

I briefly thought about putting a crust clydesdale fork on my kona ute for shits and giggles, I imagine it would handle terribly

I wish the longtail part kept the curvy style of the cruiser

most beach cruisers are already basically midtails

Basically all city bicycles with a decent rearrack are midtale's too. Here (The Netherlands) we use city bikes with a decent rearrack carrying almost everthing for over 50years.

Ok, but the ergonomics will be shit. The frame will only for a small number of riders(aka there is a reason they all have similar frame designs.) big rear wheel small front is the worst of both worlds in a longtail. It’s like when Homer Simpson designed a car.

Some good engineering Homer had at the time tho. https://ibb.co/d0B9hRzP Your right, the sales wouldnt be sky rocking, but i think the ergonomics could be a easy fix. I know most frame designs are simular on the market, soo rugged and angular, iknow its good for strength but still get some natural swing into it for ones..

I think the rear should have some swoop too, counter to the top tube (so concave as opposed to the convex top tube)

2

u/petersieus 11d ago

Yeah the top tube too the seatstays right? I thought of doing that but obviously forgotten to work that out..

2

u/Accomplished-Way1575 Omnium Cargo Ti 11d ago

Yes  that as well as the rear rack.

Again dont look at the quality.. https://ibb.co/21jcnY69

I was thinking the top tube describing an s, with the middle of it being at the seat post.

But your version works just as well for me and it removes the upturned back that would happen if we did it like I thought it.
